I still don't understand the thesis of this thread. They're different weights. Different eras. One was an undefeated champ. One is borderline top 10 and has admitted that they don't want to train as much as their coaches want them to.

I'm not sure what it is UFC is supposed to be promoting with Dern.

Overall yes Dern punches harder. She has dropped lots of fighters she has fought. Ronda got one KO on Bethe, but hasn't been able to replicate that punching power on multiple opponents. Plus judging by the punches I've seen I can tell Dern is the harder puncher. I can easily tell the power in fighter's punches. It's easy for me to compare vs other fighters. Dern is much more explosive and heavy handed with her striking and puts her weight behind her punches . Ronda's are arm punches, she got the KO as she was moving forward so it was able to use her forward momentum to add more power to her punch. Watch her stationary punching and you can see there isn't much power coming from her technique.

The stats don’t back it up and I’m sorry but saying trust me I know deez tings isn’t exactly strong evidence. She has one recorded knockdown in the ufc in 6 fights.

And to TS, I had no clue that belt can stop you from being submitted.
If I remember correct: Late mr. Helio Gracie once said belt protects only 1% of your body, rest you have to defend yourself.

This is a very common judo exercise. It has nothing to do with striking at all.

She's better then most girls in that divsion because women mma is weak in general.

Liz carmouche just fought and went 5 rounds with Valentina who is of course a goat.

Ronda would do fine today if she dedicated herself. Her problem is she believed she was a puncher. Which she’s not

if she played her game that made her so great in wmma. She would still be at the top.

Ronda was just destroying everyone. This dern. Not so much. And she’s not going against killers. She’s going against bad fighters. But that’s wmma.

What stats are you implying back up your theory? I'm judging it from their fights. I'm not saying trust me I know these tings. I'm explaining the reasoning behind why I feel Dern hits harder. Any power puncher can easily tell the difference. We know what to look for. Others will have a hard time gauging strength but for others it's very easy. Ronda isn't really known for her boxing or her mma striking. So I don't understand the argument that she's some elite power puncher. Dern has proven her power punching in her fights. She's dropped multiple opponents that she's fought and every time she connects clean you can see it in their faces that it was a hard hit. They immediately back peddle, cover up, or get dropped. Those are the stats I'm basing my argument on. If you want you can probably look at their significant strikes stats from all their fights and see who has more.

No. Dern will never be the champion. I watch all her fights hoping to see something special, but am always disappointed. And all her fights are boring. Ronda, win or lose, has never been in a boring fight. She either finished the fight or went out on her shield.
