Just read that Dern is now booked to fight Brazilian Amanda Ribas in Tampa on the same card that Joanna J fights Michelle Waterson.

Quite surprised to be honest that Dern is attempting to come back this year, and also...... she really thinks she's gonna make 116lbs at the weigh-in?? (115+1lb allowance).

I mean she struggled mightily BEFORE she had a kid so.....well let's see. I would be very surprised if she makes weight to be honest. It will have been 4months since she gave birth in June.
It's Ribas's 2nd UFC fight after she beat Emily Whitmire a couple of months ago via RNC.

I guess at least Dern won't need to speak English much, Ribas is Brazilian......<45>

She should not have been allowed to fight at UFC 224. She's made 115lbs three times out of 7 in her pro career, weighing in at 123, 118 and 120 in 3 other fights. The other 2 fights she went up to Flyweight ...

Just seems dumb. If you've missed nearly 50% of your attempts to make weight ... you're not fighting at the right weight. After a while her opponents are gonna start demanding a clause that guarantees she'll be at least close....

The girl's she's fighting aren't the name she is and would likely HAVE to take the fight at whatever weight she chooses to turn up at being who she is.

She's basically cheating and the UFC are allowing it.
