Lyoto vs Davis 2 Sept.11th Bellator 245

I don't remember the robbery of their first fight. Somehow I doubt i missed much.

Contrary to what most Lyoto fans believe, controlling distance and feinting with your hips doesn't score points.

What does? Taking people Down. Hopefully Phil puts that juicer away this time.

Was this a matchup any fans were clamoring for?

Machida never used steroids. Stop spreading lies.

Machida also landed the better strikes in the first fight. Getting a takedown you did nothing with should count for nothing.

I remember the first fight not being very good. Machida fans never let go of that decision though.

Currently, Davis should be able to dominate, but I hope The Dragon pulls it off somehow.

I’ll be rooting for my dude Lyoto. That decision was a tough one but, on the plus side, I’m pretty sure that it was the impetus for Machida going to MW and those Munoz and Gegard performances were awesome.

Only other thing I recall about Lyoto vs. Davis (aside from it being close and my having thought Lyoto should have won it) is that it was in Brazil and the crowd did a cool chant of ly-OTOOO ma-CHIDA

I'll hit a little about our MMA / Karate emissary....
I forgot they even fought
Not me.

That first flight was one of the worst robberies I've ever seen.
Nah,,, Lyoto put on a disappointing display. He peaked with 'Shad... sliding downhill ever since.

I wasn't dismayed... Lyoto's karate skill just went sideways... then down....all the MMA training in world only hastened the decline.

honestly, haven't kept up with Lyoto much since he joined Bellator
Some.

Excellent.
Yeah... good match up by Bellator....

i think phil davis will beat the current machida.
Agreed. Davis should take it to the ground.

Don’t like it. Wish lyoto would retire. He had a great comeback.
Lyoto just won't quit. He loves competing. What more can we say?

Machida will get outgrappled in this fight.
Tink su 2

P.S. Donks, my sh*t is good.

okay DONKS... more good sh*t....

It was ok to be 1st class and take on Machida... but you didn't want to be 2nd class...

Anyone want to live in the reality where Phil Davis owns a KO victory over Machida?

Machida is a pretty bad matchup for Davis. I wouldnt be surprised if he walked away with the w.

Nothing screams a definitive round like scoring a takedown in the last ten seconds of a round.

I wonder why Coker is so adamant to sign ex-UFC fighters to Bellator contracts and then have them fight each other? It would seem to be more logical to sign ex-UFC fighters and give them fresh matchups against already established Bellator fighters. I would think the fighters would love that and MMA fight fans would appreciate the fresh matchups as well.

The UFC typically has fair decisions. Of course there are some poor ones. But that first Machida-Davis fight was still the biggest robbery I have seen. Machida won all 3 rounds yet didn't win on a single judges score card. Not to mention, a judge gave Davis round 3....absurd.
The first Machida-Davis fight wasnt a robbery. Davis clearly won that fight. It was an easy fight to score

Machida barely landed anything. I remember Machida throwing a flurry where everyone one of his strikes missed and fans were getting excited over them

Haven’t heard from any other fights for this card
