Lyoto Machida appreciation thread

One of my all time favorite fighters to watch, seeing him confusticate and bamboozle people was great entertainment. Making buffoons out of elite fighters.

Lyoto brought the magic back into martial arts.

We need a rematch so Lyoto can get that coveted Bellator strap!

But how do we know that he didn't know what there were in that supplement. You also said that DHEA didn't do anything which is clearly false.

It isn't clearly false and there are tons of studies showing it has no impact on athletic performance. Read them if you like, I don't care. I answered your original question and you just keep going like a broad yapping.

We need more draws in MMA. Lyoto mas multiple fights where he was barely touched at all yet "lost" the fight. He was usually the only one that did anything in those fights as well. It may have been one big moment, but the other guy had zero moments. But they gave the round to the other guy because he moved forward swinging at air.

Lyoto Machida is my favorite fighter of all time. The true embodiment of a "martial artist"
I won 100 bet on machida vs Rashad back in the day. His performance in the Thiago Silva fight is underrated in terms of flawless performances, dropped Silva multiple times with knees and follow up punches, didnt get hit, and ended the fight in the last second of the 1st round with an old school judo trip into diving punch, that was quintessential Machida. Also, when Rich Franklin was 22-1 as UFC mw champ before he ran into Silva, that 1 loss was from Machida.

the way he completely dominated Rashad was awesome to see. you could literally see the confidence in Rashad leave with every swing he missed at Lyoto. the increasing desperation in Rashad's attacks. it was a master class on how to fight at kicking range and how to stay out of the kitchen vs a puncher. he was patient and he waited until the perfect moment to go for the finish on Rashad.

Lyoto is one of my favorite fighters. Peaked early. By the time he won the title he was already slowing down. It's a shame he didn't enter the UFC until 2007. He destroyed Franklin in 2003, he was ready for the big show then.

I remember when Bonnar, BJ Penn, and Rich Franklin were considered the greatest of their division, and my buddy showed me a video of him beating all 3 of them including Sokoudjou and I thought "holy shit this guy is a secret weapon no one knows about!"

You ever heard of some guy? Ryoto Machida?

I've always loved this one cos Bader kept talking about his improved footwork, but all he did was skipping and tap dancing until he said fuck it and rushed fwd only to wake up staring at the lights.
