It's not unreasonable to think that Rockhold beats Perreira. Obviously he has to take him down to do so, but it's not like Perreira has been beating ground experts left and right.

In a pure grappling match, sure I'd give the advantage to Luke.

But the last thing Luke wants to do is strike with a guy who is known for his left hook lol. Bisping, Romero, Jan all KO'd him with that exact punch.

On top of that, Pereira is a big dude. No idea if Luke can actually take him down.

I still feel the follow up shot that Romero gave him...then he kissed it better like a good parent lol.

It wasn't that long ago he came in rusty as fuck and still gave Costa a good fight and had his moments. So I don't think this so out of the question like many of you think.

BKFC is just a totally different sport. Easier to get cut and just feels different when you get hit there he was not used to that sport where as Perry already had alot of experience there.

So Rockhold imo is not as out of his prime as many of you think. But ofcourse I know he is not the same fighter as he was when champ...

I mean I don't feel he has what it takes to get elite fighters to the ground these days. If he did, Pereira would probably be in some trouble, but Rockhold, despite a valiant effort, looked worn out against Costa early on and throughout the fight. I am not going to hate on a guy for self belief though. It may seem cocky or delusional, especially with the verbiage he uses, but I also feel from personal experience that it is a byproduct of competing at a high level for a lifetime.

He had/has the best ground game in the mw division. If he could ground izzy or perriera i have no doubts he wins. However, his standup is that lacking. That without a quick takedown he gets stiffened. I would love to see these guys fight.

It's not at all IMO, all it takes for him is to catch one of Poatan's kicks and when it hits the floor it's a wrap, Luke is many levels above Poatan on the ground.
