Lowered trucks

How many seats are in your average truck? just 2 up the front?

A modest lift is ok by me and looks fine with a truck.

While the exaggerated/extreme lifts look silly, if the vehicle is obviously designed for off roading or bogging or whatever thats called, then you can excuse it. But there are still those out there who go all out and for the purpose of aesthetics only, and ya, I'm not a fan of that either. But so be it.

My daughter's scooter does this.

What's worse, lowered or lifted?

Well, you're not getting to any of my favourite camping spots in a lowered truck....so it depends on who you are, and what you use your truck for, I guess. I've always had 4x4s and never saw the use of a lowered truck.

A modest lift(3-5 inches) looks good imo. Anything over that though and it's too gaudy.

has to be lifted. not only does it cost more to do the work (larger parts) it costs more in the long run (bigger tires=more fuel costs) not to mention the stress from the fucking road noise of those god damn mudders. fuck i hate it.

My buddy has a new 4Runner that he put the biggest mudders he could fit on it without a lift along with some other accessories. The thing is badass, looks like something you'd drive in a zombie apocalypse. You can forget about a conversation from the backseat at anything over 35 MPH though. Driving it everyday would be maddening. Just this constant drone of road noise.

Love lowered trucks. Especially love watching them drive around with their front bumpers cracked.

A lowered mini truck with a manual transmission that makes decent power would be fun enough to drive.

Not my thing, I like to be able to tow with my trucks.

People driving full size, lifted trucks on mudders could not care less about cost to run, fuel mileage or road noise.

If I was in some horrifying scenario where I had to buy and drive a pickup I'd probably get a lowered pickup tbh. They look alright I suppose

Lowering any car is dumb to me, unless you're doing it for specific handling purposes.

But lowering just for looks I don't get.

But whatever, it doesn't hurt anyone. If anything, it helps me identify assholes without talking to them.

And yes I realize 4% of them aren't assholes, but I can live with that error rate.

That's a dyno proven 500hp 383ci small block. It's not just for show. Thing is fun as hell to drive. But it's actually for sale right now. I want to build something older.

The best part about these lowered vehicles is when you're in a parking lot with speed bumps and they go into them at a 45 degree angle at about 1km/hr, driver's head out the window like Ace Ventura trying to navigate and avoid scraping. It's like a 10 minute ordeal to get over the bump. Funny stuff.

There was a guy at my high school that had a truck like that (this was 12 years ago). I always thought it was hilarious because he acted like he was the toughest guy ever, yet he had a tiny truck that could barely make it out of the parking lit, and even better his taillights were stars. And I don't mean the lights made a star pattern, I mean they cut the body of the truck in the back into a star pattern and put the headlights right behind that. Someone spend some time on that truck to give it the star taillights. So gangsta!

I think classic trucks look alright lowered. I personally wouldn't do it though because anytime you face any type of grade you risk scraping it to hell.

Well, that and a lot of bros tend to lower their vehicles and make them all fast and furious tuner style. You could be the coolest guy in the world but if you have a lowered car with a body wrap and a pissed off bumblebee muffler my first impression is douche.

A comment I would expect from someone with an Edmonton Oilers logo.

I always drove sports cars. Only cars I ever owned were Mustangs and Camaros. Fast and loud. Then I got a truck and I love it. It's definitely not fast and it doesn't take corners well, but it looks pretty badass and I can haul all manner of stuff. It's hard to remember how I got by without one for so long. I'll probably always drive a truck.

Not my style but that thing is

Good job on the build.

Me too, nothing but cars. Maybe I'm just an old man now but I'm getting kind of tired of crouching down to get in my GTO and feeling cramped if I drive longer than an hour or so. I'm thinking the next purchase is a truck or suv. I've had my fun with performance.
