Lorenzo Hood: http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Lorenzo-Hood-51117

Fighting this weekend at Bellator. Looked him up, LOOKS the part with big muscles and tattoos, but the guy is a complete can crusher.

6 of his wins are against guys with 0 wins (5 0-1s and 1 0-3)
Another's record was 1-6
Only winning record win is 2-1, and the remaining record is 4-6

2 losses are both first round finish losses.

Just saying...

Damn, never even seen the second round yet.

Seems like an exciting fighter. Why such a negative thread about the guy? Something personal?

Guy has three posts. Two are criticizing Serra and this thread. Shrug...

Haha yeah it's so great to be knocking out cans with no other fights

Is that a cut stoppage to a guy named blaydes?

He's been fighting for regional organizations like "Bloody Cage Valentine," "Battle in the Barn," "American Predator Fighting Championships," and "Maxx FC." The fuck kind of quality opponents would you expect?

His last fight there is a mistake on fight finder....that is a 155 pound fighter that he beat? No way I was there live and was against a white dude completely out of shape, announced as a 2-14 record at the time

Was listening to Sam and Jason Floyd podcast, Floyd says Bellator is very very very high on Hood and Sam Caplan thinks he's not anything special, hasnt fought anyone and think he said there was things behind the scenes he heard about the guy that would make him iffy on him.

We'll see, Butler is a decent mid level HW for Bellator, lets see what Hood can do.

I'm inclined to side with Caplan on that one. But hey, Blackzillian's training can change a fighter.

Heavyweights in the US usually fight lots of squash matches though, sometimes they'll hit a guy like Blaydes and get a loss, but usually it's beating up guys with beer guts and bad tattoos for the W's.

Most HWs are can crushers until they get signed by a major org. Not all but there's not many good HWs to go around so a lot of times they fight terrible regional guys.

He looks pretty athletic, that's already an advantage over 90% of the chubby dudes we have at hw. We'll see cause butler is pretty damn good

This is also correct

IMO if you put a 7-1 guy against a 0-1 guy, you suck as a promotion

Regional HW MMA is rough. It'd be more fair to judge him after his first Bellator fight or so.

Would love to see butler Ko him. Hard to see this fight not stay standing

Does Sherdog have the wrong fighter linked for his last fight??

Say he beat Joshua Anderson http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Joshua-Anderson-47768

However when you click on him it says he fights at 155.....

I am hoping its a mistake otherwise that's some putrid matchmaking and a damn shame that an athletic commission would have allowed that even take place.

So? He fought regional shows against CANS...Tha'ts really how a career should start. He did well at that level, now he is stepping up to the next level. Good for him.
