I think all economists have to agree with the core points here. I've said the same thing and written it here.

I think some of the hand-wringing for prior times is overblown though. It wasn't just the entry of women into the workforce that exploded the labor pool and depressed wages. It was the globalization of the economy that did it as well. EVen if women had never entered the workforce, it would have been the same problem except with cheaper foreign labor being the driving factor.

The impact on the home life is certainly not arguable though. Although I'm trying to think of time when households, especially in poor families, didn't need the wife to work as a maid or a cook in the homes of wealthier people.
