Look at my watch = look at how I wasted $350K...

The new ceramic bezel is pretty sexy -

Thing of beauty.

350k for a watch is absolutely ridiculous. In no way, shape or form should any person, regardless of how rich they are pay that amount for a damn watch. You could get a much nicer looking watch for a meager percentage of that price tag by the way.

And I know @SteelHeems has a point- the guy has so much money, it's like a drop in the bucket- but, at the same time, economics is all about choices. 300k spent on one decision is 300k you don't have to spend on something else. You can't tell me that there weren't better things Floyd could spend that equivalent amount on.
Your view does not make any sense.

Take Bill Gates or someone with over $50B in wealth. Even at 4% annual interest (he would make more) that is $2B in annual interest. That equals $166MM/month in interest. It is money just piling up that he will never spend and will have to give away. if he wants a $350K watch it takes away no future choice from him.

Even with someone worth $300MM that is $12MM/yr interest or $1MM/month. And while many of us could imagine spending that much for a while in a blitz it really would be hard to spend that much month after month without cash piling up.

Lol what a hater. The big bang series holds value well and some of the limited run models do go up in value.
They are expensive and hold value.....I think the other poster was just saying that among watch enthusiasts that brand has very little interest. I frequent certain watch forums and that does seem to be the case. I personally buy and wear what I like. Others should do the same. Hublot isn't my style. But if you like it then more power to you.

Sure. I'm personally not a watch person. I dislike most watch designs or find them to be boring. Like the last two Rolex examples posted itt. I do like a few of hublots designs. I personally wouldn't spend money on a watch, especially a 5-15k.

I would be part of the more boring fans. I like clean looking and rather plain watches for the most part.

Yeah when i am out in the surf I love pulling my phone out of my wetsuit.
I wear a g shock daily. I have several nice watches but my g shocks get the most wrist time. I work in a power plant. I'm not taking my phone out to check the time 60 times a shift.

Based on Mayweather's "look at my watch" response, I did a bit of research to see what he was implying.

The watch is a Hublot LaFerrari limited edition to 50. Retail pricing was $350K but now available for 28% off for only $248K.

Imo, it looks like garbage and his response may as well be "look at how I'm going to need a lot more money soon...". (Yes I know Mayweather has way more money than me at this point in time (this point in time being emphasized since Mayweather apparently spents $75M per year...), blah blah, but seriously...look at that watch. You can barely tell time with it.)

Here's the all sapphire version which is apparently even more expensive - this photo shows it on a wrist which further shows the bulky oversize nature of the design:

And a video of the same version Mayweather was wearing:

Apparently all 50 didn't sell and this site has it on sale for 28% off - and do note the free shipping:

Why would anyone wear that stupid fucking thing, never mind pay anything for it?

it may not have occurred to you but its entirely possible ferrari or hublot gave him that watch.

If I had mayweather you couldn't give me that watch or any other watch really. Actually I guess you could cause I'd give it away to family. It would never be something I keep.

Never was a big Rolex guy but I was enamored with these two watches recently.

Meh. Rolex are for poor people who got rich. So vulgar.

Patek, Jaeger or Breguet is where it's at.

Mmmmm wait I just remembered that my sister has a Rolex.

The submariner is timeless IMO. I prefer vintage Rolex' though like the old 5513 milsubs and the Paul Newman Daytona.

Those old Pepsi dial GMT'd are nice too. You could Have two identical pieces from the same year and the bezels will have entirely different colours on them.

The brands you cited are all exceptional as well. Thumbs up.

Bring back the watch thread where I punked all those douchebag watch wearing girls.

Watches are like designer handbags for women. Except even more useless. In both cases, evidence of a superficial bimbo.
