LOL @ the Robbie Lawler hype

rory beats lawler by point fighting opps I mean by being "technically" sound.ya digg?

Well, if he fights like he did one week ago, he can beat pretty much anyone. That performance was insaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaane. He threw him across the cage the only time Voelker tried to take him down and then proceeded to smash the guy with sick precision and timing. It was beautiful.

Anyone who knocks out Koscheck gets support from me. Not against Rory or GSP, but against most others.

I'm not reading all of that but Lawler has been great his last two fights at welterweight. He's on a roll and he doesn't intend to stop any time soon. The moment a fighter stops believing in himself is when he stops fighting well. Lawler believes in himself and that goes a long way in this sport. He has a chance to make some real noise in the division.

He fought a former title contender in Kos and KO'd him......what more do you want?

With his punching power, he can take anyone out.

>Always been a 50/50 fighter
>Record is 21-9

Tell me more OP

Aside from GSP, I don't care who you are. If you have Lawler's power, athleticism, and experience, you are a formidable opponent for anyone. Yeah, he's been picked apart technically in the striking game a few times, but he's also never had a chance to settle into a top level camp since he left MFS. He looks good now, and his mind is right. We'll see soon, because you know his next opponent is going to be a killer at WW. In my opinion, you can put him up against any top 5 WW and he will give them a run for their money.

I think TS is about right,

Always more than happy to watch him fight, but don't see any belt in his future.

Lol, this is some bullshit! He is a badass top 10 fighter that get EVERYONE excited when he's on the card!
Granted - he was getting lit up like a mofo but he KO'd Manhoef and looked unstoppable in his last two fights! Hype? This is the dude that has been around when guys were wearing one glove to the ring!
You are a negative Nancy!

I think you've said all that needs to be said ;)

LOL @ him beating Rory.

Rory haters remind me of Rashad's haters back when he came off TUF. Rory keeps winning and haters keep telling us he's gonna lose his next fight. Even if the opponent is easier than what he's already faced.

I'm with TS.

Rogan went wild on Robbie after the last fight and now that opinion is everywhere.

Robbie was always a dangerous fighter. He still is. Robbie always had a lot of weaknesses. He still does.

Anyone with his power is dangerous, whether his opponent is top 5 or not.

But this idea that he has suddenly become materially better in his early 30's is highly unlikely. The only reason that I could understand for such an improvement would be if Robbie overcame some sort of personal addiction issues (which I have never heard about) or he was on the TRT wagon

You honestly gave a decent argument, but I think Robbie is peaking. He is looking better than ever.

I don't think he'll win the title, or go on a division clean out, but styles make fights and I think he can do some damage at WW.

He wouldn't beat GSP, but id give him a chance against most, irrespective of his record. Im not new to Lawler, he was my original favourite fighter back when he knocked out Tiki. His win over Kos proves, on his day, he is dangerous. I took nothing away from the wk end fight in terms of thinking it translates into forming accurate predictions on where he's going.

I think the Rory fight makes sense for both men, and will answer a lot of questions concerning both fighters.

They stopped the Tiki fight on a cut. There's no way he was out.

Lawler is very overhyped right now. People are thinking he is some world beater, and seem to be experiencing some sort of amnesia. He is a great fighter, but he is not championship material......

I can safely say I've seen no one say that lawler would beat GSP. GSP would handle him just as easily as everyone else he's fought (or rematched). I think Lawler's looked fantastic at 170 - he looked great in his first ufc days also mind you. I do however see his run at 170 getting spoiled though. Voekler (is that how you spell it?) is hardly a world beater and Koscheck was on a slope. I'll support him still win lose or draw
