I gave it a very solid 8. I'd probably have given it an 8.5 but didn't feel like it was a 9.

I really, really enjoyed the movie and they did so much right, but the final act was pretty disappointing. Not BAD, but not nearly as good as the first two acts.

I actually have quite a few minor nit picks but they're so minor they aren't worth mentioning in detail.

Great movie.

Absolutely loved it. Brutal both visually and emotionally. That poor family got fucking rekt. Laura's growls as she murdered people were perfect.

I cried at the ending. That kid holding the Wolverine toy got me.

Lol didn't even realize I posted a spoiler!

Oops my bad guys.

I got chills at times when she was growling. Indeed like an animal!

Some of the best acting from a kid I've seen in a long time.

When she was crying at the end when Logan was dying and she had that snot coming out of her nose, little details like that go a long way with me. Tremendous acting, tremendous film.

Hugh Jackman Thanks the Fans for 17 Years of Wolverine

i just couldn't connect with the whole film, dragon compares it to unforgiven, but for superheroes. i didn't like that one either. I've not liked any of the wolverine stand alone films, which kills me to say when you think about the source material.
the first 3 x-men films i loved and could never understand why the last stand got so much flak.

You don't even like Unforgiven? Have you seen/did you like Shane? Do you generally dislike elegiac films?

For what it's worth, I, too, love X-Men and X2. Unfortunately, I don't share your love for The Last Stand. I thought that one was a turd, though as far as turds go, it wasn't completely without merit. And I thought Origins was lame but I was thoroughly impressed with The Wolverine (for the record, and if you care, you can see my thoughts on the X-Men films in much greater detail here: http://forums.sherdog.com/posts/109189057/)

Then again, I always come at these movies as movies. I'm not a comic book guy, so I don't see these films as adaptations in the sense of knowing/being invested in the source material and thus having a stake in how the stories and characters are cinematically rendered. Perhaps your stake in the source material makes it difficult for you to countenance the creative decisions made with Wolverine? In which case, what are the decisions you've liked over the course of the franchise and what are the decisions you've disliked and, with reference to the source material, why?

when she was watching them nonchalantly on the tv while eating her cereal was great.

Her reaction to Xavier and the family getting killed was incredibly well done. God damn that was a tragic scene.

I let out a mansob when she called him daddy at the end. Incredible acting.

The other kids were really good as well I thought.

Just incredible. I'm finally seeing John Wick 2 tonight otherwise I would watch it again.

I saw Logan three times lol
I know I have nothing better to do but the 2nd and 3rd viewings were a lot more emotional for me because I knew what was ahead and it gave me time to really focus on the scenes. When she cries and calls him daddy on my 3rd viewing...jesus christ bro. I noticed guys around me touching their face during the scene in a little wipe or scratch motion lol

BTW I saw Wick 2 twice.

You're gonna enjoy yourself in that one.

well, looks like I'm not the only one that didn't like it. i guess tis fury road all over again, the masses buying into the hype. and people that didn't being ridiculed because of it.
Why is that "the masses buying into the hype"?

More like the masses enjoyed the movie. There's nothing wrong with not enjoying something popular, but that doesn't mean everyone who did like it is just "buying into the hype"

Man the entire theater was crying last night. Although nothing will ever beat the communal sobbing that was Up.

I'm super excited for John Wick 2. Hitting up an all you can eat sushi buffet beforehand.

It was tough deciding between that and Get Out but I'll see Get Out this week.

Bro I fucking hate that " buying into the hype" smugness.

I just got back from seeing it. FUCKING WOW! That was such a great ending to what was a pretty disappointing wolverine franchise. I was totally enthralled from beginning to end. I am thinking about going to see it again tonight.

Things I really liked:

Jackman. Excellent performance from start to finish. Completely sold me on how completely gutted his entire world had been, and was absolutely believable as the solitary outcast willing to do anything for the last living people he cares about, while remaining the surliest of motherfuckers. His savage moments were electric.

Stewart. Another brilliant performance and the best written character of the story. The most powerful mind in the world disintegrating into dementia was incredible story-telling. Resenting the drugs that twisted him into a lack-wit and the struggle to take them to keep everyone safe really resonated with me, made me ask if I could do that. The reveal of his crushing guilt was a blow to my solar plexus. The dream of Sunchaser was tragic and beautiful. His death was so devoid of hope it was all I could think about leaving the theater; he died believing he was leaving a world where mutant kind is doomed after spending his entire life fighting for peace. Not how I would have written it but that's because I'd never have that courage. We saw that Xavier's dream lives on, but he couldn't know that. It ached to see a character I loved for so many years suffer that kind of end.

Laura. More fantastic casting, carrying an amazing performance driven by great writing. Her facial expressions and body language were perfect. She was utterly convincing and the stunt work with her was perfect, all of her action was flawless and incredibly cool. The choreography for that first boot blade strike was spectacular. The humorous chemistry between her and Jackman was smooth, comfortable, and never felt forced. The slow transformation from tension to trust between them felt very natural with some surprisingly touching moments along the way. I believed in their relationship, and never felt that things happened because they had to happen, which may not seem like a big deal, but it's everything.

The vision of the future. It was subtle and perfect. Still our (imaginary) world but slightly different. Mutants slipping into legend and the reactions of people who meet them. A world where the government has won and is just trying to exploit the X Gene however they can. The Mexicans doing their best to save children and succeeding, at great cost. The seamless technology, comfortably advanced but not TOO advanced (cybernetics, automated trucks).

I may post some of my nit picks later, but I doubt it. The movie was pretty great.

@Dragonlordxxxxx

I have to give it a 10

I really liked it , R-Rated for all the right reasons , don't even care how jacked up of a Future Logan and Charles found themselves in put that aside and it's a somber but very effective end of their run. Not perfect but I came out with a smile and satisfied hence the 10.

This is honestly one of my favorites if not my favorite film in recent years.
