Wolverine's healing factor is failing because his body has been poisoned by having adamantium in his bones for decades. The metal is toxic and his healing factor has to work on overdrive to offset its deadly side effects. Being an old man, his healing factor can't keep up as well anymore, which is why he now shows scars from his injuries.

I think Logan's healing factor is also burned out because mentally he just checked out and doesn't want it anymore. Think of the shit he's seen and lived through over the span of 200+ years. We're talking about a guy who fought in both world wars, survived ground zero at Nagasaki bombing and all that is before he got the metal skeleton and even before he started doing weird shit with the X-men

Just saw it with the lady. We both really enjoyed it. It was a really well done movie. Could've shaved off about 15-30 minutes imo. Some story plots weren't really needed to progress the story. Definitely one of the better comic book movies out there though. Glad that they had a R-rating for this one.

It grinds my gears to see children walking into the movie. I'm talking 5-6 year olds, maybe some younger. I'm judging you as a parent when you let your kid watch a movie like this. It wasn't for them at all and I'm disappointed that parents would bypass the R-rating and let their kid watch that.

Also, any Johnny Cash fans feel like a lot of this movie was paying respect to Mr. Cash himself? The way they wrote "Logan" looked like Johnny's last album. They played his version of "Hurt" to promote the movie and then closed the movie with "The Man Comes Around." Even some of the stuff that happened in the movie and locations made me think of Johnny Cash.

8/10 for me. Really good movie.

That just makes me want to see this movie even more:cool:

Would've been cool to see Liev Schreiber back instead of that Logan clone poop, but still dug the movie overall; not as much as others seem to be loving it, but it was definitely solid.

They were genetic clones of mutants, so it wouldn't have made sense for all of them to be mexican

They were also raised and "trained" by American doctors/scientists etc. in Mexico. The only Mexicans around them were their nurses. Would be weird if they didn't speak English and weren't bilingual

I get that they were bilingual but not even accents

Regarding all the freaky shit that goes these days, I will marry this movie for realz.

Man I really liked RETURNS.

I may revisit BATMAN BEGINS; it's the only one of the Nolanverse I haven't seen repeatedly. So you enjoy the more realistic take? Usually people say THE DARK KNIGHT is their favorite, but not you?
My fav is Begins. I like Ras Al Ghul the most among the villains. TDK was great too, just prefer the 1st one more.

She was given Adamantium claws but her bones were not laced with Adamantium.
How is she able to fight soo energetically and bound/jump about the place , if all she has are the claws. She would need to have super strength too , the way she fights off the bad guys.

When they showed X23 on the table she was cut up good, I got the impression her skeleton is covered in adamantium.

Awesome movie, but I felt let down on the villain side. I guess ultimately it was about Logan fighting himself, but the stakes just didn't feel that high at times. If they made X24 a bit more feral, I think it would've helped. He seemed a bit too much like a pet to be taken seriously.

I don't think it's TDK territory but definitely a fitting send off to a character that should've had a movie like this a decade ago.

Movie magic exaggeration.

But if you are inferring that her bones must be laced with Adamantium since she can do all sorts of crazy physical stuff, then it makes less sense since she would be heavier with the metal in her body.

I can't see how she could defeat the bad guys with just claws , because wouldn't any person with sharp claws be able to do very similar stuff then? Wolverine is soo bad ass because his whole body is reinforced with Adamantium and he can withstand severe injury.

I couldn't find any info online about X-24 in the comics, so I think he might be a film-only creation. Otherwise why make such a big deal in the comics about X-23?

And I only wanted one primary villain in the entire film, not two. So either Donald Pierce and the Reavers, or just Sabretooth by himself. That way you can develop the villain's threat over the entire film.

How I would have handled the premise of this film (keeping some of the same elements and modifying others):

With mutants effectively wiped out thanks to genetically modified crops, the Weapon X program is working hard to perfect artificially-created mutants to turn into future super soldiers. X-23 is the only successful lab experiment (i.e. no other kids), but she is broken free thanks to a sympathetic caregiver.

The caregiver finds Logan and begs for his help, but he's old, cynical and has no interest. Weapon X sends normal soldiers (non-mutant black ops units) to take X-23 back. Wolverine kills them all and saves the girl.

So Weapon X calls in the only man who can take on Wolverine: Sabretooth.

Sabretooth agrees to take on the job, because he is promised he will be given an adamantium skeleton as payment. Of course he doesn't know what the long term side effects are, something which Wolverine has been dealing with for the past decade.

As far as a death I feel would be fitting for Wolverine, there is one that comes to mind. Anyone that's read the Death of Wolverine would know where I'm going with this. Laura gets recaptured and taken back to a Weapon X facility that has adamantium bonding equipment. Wolverine goes after her and gets into a final fight with Sabretooth. Laura tries to help, but she is too small, Wolverine is too old, and Sabretooth is too strong. Wolverine is losing the fight, tells Laura to run away, to "not be what they made her", and slashes at the adamantium holding tank. Molten adamantium spills out. Wolverine plunges his claws into Sabretooth and holds him in a death-grip. Sabretooth tears chunks out of Wolverine trying to free himself. But Wolverine won't let go. The molten metal pours over the two and quickly hardens, effectively killing them both.

Tear-stricken by Logan's sacrifice, Laura escapes the facility and vows to honor the name of the Wolverine and continue the battle against hatred and intolerance. To pursue Xavier's dream of a peaceful co-existence between mutants and humans.

THE END

Personally, I absolutely hated that ending in the comic so I would likely be reluctant to accept it in a movie. As for Sabretooth, wouldnt he be like 200 years old and have his powers fading as well? I think ultimately they wanted to distance themselves from the previous 2 movies as much as possible, which is fine by me.

I mean, as far as a synopsis goes, yours is fine. Could be great, could be ass. It's all in the execution. I think they executed this particular version nearly perfectly. Even with it's flaws I think it would be difficult to improve upon it with such massive, sweeping changes.

Good list.

Interesting that you put Spider-Man instead of Spider-Man 2.

Loved S2 a lot. I think Spiderman 1 is more significant as it announced Marvel on the big stage and was the first movie ever to gross $100 million/weekend. Also, William Da foe and Macho Man sealed it for me.
