just saw it with my bro, damn fine movie. I wasn't expecting much, but when my brother opted to pay for me i knew he wanted me to see it and i was glad i went. awesome to see logan finally use his claws and the violence that ensues, and i'm pretty sure i teared up in the last half. too damn good.

Great movie.

Patrick Stewart really stole the show. Hugh Jackman is an incredible Wolverine; it's too bad that the other two Wolverine-centirc movies were shit through absolutely no fault of his own.

This one got it right though.

Great movie. really enjoyed it. Hugh and Patrick where great as was the little girl.

Only problem I had was the let's get to Canada and everything will be over was kind of meh.

Wow, did they knock out of the fucking park when it counted.

I wonder how this movie got made in this franchise with this character. This is more than simply a R rating with bloody action sequences. Everything about this movie from the characterization, plot, tone, etc is so far above and beyond anything else in the Xmen series.

It's not without its minor flaws. The plot devices felt pretty obvious at times. This "Green Serum" that gives Wolverine his full powers, but apparently only for 5 minutes was pretty absurd. I mean "Domt take it all at once"? Eh, why not?

Also the adamantium bullet.

I was initially underwhelmed by X-24 being a wolverine clone. However I realized the difficulty in conceptualizing how an older, weaker Wolverine could deal with a new super threat. Suppose X24 was Omega Red or something. They'd need to come up with an even bigger plot device to "Kryptonite" him. But the Adamantium bullet works perfecty plot wise and a clone fits seamlessly into the overall theme of Logan battling himself. So even though my "Comic Book Guy" self is somewhat disappointed, judging it solely as a movie these devices work.

I can't recall any other Super Hero movie that has given me the feels like Logan. Him telling Charles "it wasn't me" was heartbreaking. The thought of your only friend thinking you killed him would be agonizing. A little beat that may have been nice would have been if Charles had just said "Of course it wasn't"

Legit misty eyes when she turned the Cross into an X.

I've done nothing but talk shit about how Fox has handled the later Xmen franchise, the wolverine movies especially. But as a swan song they fucking nailed it.

Amazing, amazing film. This is the type of comic book movie that I crave to see. Uncompromising, gritty, visceral. The R rating definitely brought out the ultra violence within the movie. A lot of it even had me wincing, actually. Jackman and Stewart brought their A game, and the girl who played Laura was another standout.

when laura escaped being surrounded cutoff the head of one of the mercenaries and rolled it to Donald Pierce I knew things were about to get extremely violent

I liked it as a solid action movie. It just didn't resonate with me emotionally, despite the very solid performances. 7/10.

This is probably the greatest comic book movie ever made. It's the only one I've ever seen that gives The Dark Knight a run for its money, and in the long run, I believe this one will endure. It has far, far more going on in it.

This is such an amazing movie. Not just a great X-men related movie, but a great cinematic experience all together. This the first time ever that they made the mutant powers looks fucking SCARY in a movie. I wish Fox showed the scary side of mutants a bit more, something like what they are doing with Legion on tv.

Few remarks though:

if I had a magic wand that could change things, I would have played around with the final battle a bit. Logan choping off x-24's head off and then just falling over bleeding would have been a better ending for me.

While I'm on the topic of X-24 it was a bit hilarious that Logan's evil clone is slicing innoncent people into kebabs 20 ft away from him while he was tending to Charles. They could have made that scene a bit better.

I feld really bat for Caliban. Merchant gave it his all for the role and I just wanted to give the dude a hug and tell him "it's going to be okay".

Food for thought: the next X-men movie will be the first one without Jacked Man in it. They have Nu Mutants and Dark Pheonix movies lined up and ready. How much will Wolverine's absence affect the franchise going further? They can milk Deadpool and X-Force for another 5-10 years easy but main timeline contiunity is in need of some serious character power and these new kids don't deliver the promissed punch.

There was definitely the implication, yes.

tremendous movie for sure.

Patrick Stewart was amazing in this, Oscar worthy.

the girl did very good job too and usually kids in these movies annoy me because they are usually really good or really bad. she would have been a better mad max than Tom hardy

Jackman growls and roars were so good too, he captured the rage perfectly

I guess I need to know all the comic book backstory cause I didn't know the other mutants were dead. And I don't know what to expect with what happens to the chidren.

It wasn't explicitly explained in the movie, just alluded to. In the comic the mutants all but died for a very different reason. Seemed like Xavier's dementia had a lot to do with it.

Went to see it with a "friend"

...

A reason why friend is in quotations

Its not based on the comics.
Xavier killed a bunch of X-men when he has a seizure and mind zapped them.
Mutants are gone because many were hunted down and the X-gene was all but completely eradicated GMOs, fluoridated water, chem-trails, etc. designed by the bad guys to target the x-gene.

I'm just being a fanboy, but 10/10 from me. Perfect send off for Wolverine, sad to see Hugh Jackman retire the role.
