Far as I know, it was an anti-Trumper project, so weren’t they successful? How can anyone be mad at giving them money when it was totally transparent who they were?

All I read on here was about how they’re neocons and shit.

There are Republicans who voted for Biden. I live in a very Republican area and have seen a few yard signs saying Republicans for Biden. Lincoln Project was not about voting in Democrats and hurting Republicans, they were always about opposing Trump. They would have helped sway some Republicans to either vote for Biden or not vote Trump.

They're Republicans who were supposed to convince other Republicans to break with Trump.

Trump actually increased his amount of Republican spport.

There's no evidence that TLP did anything but con gullible liberals into giving them enough money to fund their post election network launch.

There's literally no evidence of this.

All post-election data shows Republican turnout was record breaking and solidly in Trump's favor. Biden got a smaller percentage of Republican votes than Clinton and Obama did.

All TLP did was create for anti-Trump fodder for the resistance liberals who gave them money.

Sounds like they simply failed at doing what they set out to do. Which lets be honest it was always going to be hard for them to be successful. I haven't fully read the articles though so maybe there is more to it.

Liberals - "The Lincoln Project was never my friend."

Good. I hope morons like Rick Wilson find themselves to be a man without an island after this. No more prime time CNN slots to spew their nonsense. No "welcome back" party from the right. No nothing. Grifter justice.

The issue is that they're running around on cable news taking victory laps, not only for the presidential outcome but also for the close Senate races in Georgia that they had no involvement in.

    How are they grifters, though?

Grifters profit off of people using lies or fake bills of goods. They didn't do that.

"Opportunitists" or "charlatans" might be appropriate at most. Ultimately, I think they're more likely just well-meaning conservatives who really overestimated their contributions to the conservative project, because it's owed to randomness of people's stupidity

Well if they put effort into getting rid of Trump and he doesn't win you can't really blame them for claiming they helped that's just part of this game. Everyone in politics doesn't dirty stuff like this. I don't think this makes them any worse than any other org involved in politics. In fact I'd be surprised if they did the opposite.

    I don't care either way.

I just think that it's funny how establishment liberals got conned by those assholes. The TLP people were spouting all of the exact same rhetoric as the MAGAs when Obama was in office. Now they're extracting money from Democrats by pretending to oppose the political environment that they helped to create.

Dude, go look up the kind of shit that Rick Wilson was saying when Obama was president then tell me with a straight face that he's generally offended by any of Trump's rhetoric.

All that TLP did was scam money off of liberals to line their pockets.

Well unfortunately that's usually the way it goes anytime you give money to people. Hell it seems like these days it's a 50/50 chance your getting conned giving your money to any organization.

I thought that this one was actually pretty good.

If anything, they probably distracted Trump's inner circle a bit and convinced Clinton-era liberals to be a little less scaredypants about hitting Trump harder on his many, many failures.

I still think that the Carville/Podesta/Plouffe crowd is an even bigger waste of money though.

I'm not sure the Dems could have smeared Trump and his sycophants the way these guys did.

Sometimes you need to hire mercenaries to get the job done.

I thought some of their videos were well done but do they really need tens of millions for that shit? Fuck em’. Never Trumpers are all still monsters and they spent decades priming the Republican base for a guy like Trump. They only look reasonable compared to Trump era Republicans.

The Republican share of Trump’s vote went up in 2020, not down. The Lincoln Project was ostensibly meant to turn Republican voters away from Trump and toward Biden, they failed at that miserably. Biden won because left wing activists did a Herculean job turning out the urban vote. 800k new voter registrations in Georgia, hundreds of thousands new voter registrations in Arizona over the last 10 yrs. Lincoln project had squat to do with any of that.

The only people those ads landed with were Dems and never Trumpers. There’s absolutely no evidence they convinced Republicans to switch sides. Rick Wilson and Schmidt are both grifters.
