Lil Nas X breaks Billboard record for most weeks at No.1 with 'Old Town Road'

I might be a bit biased with Tribe but I honestly think they don't get enough credit, Phife was amazing in his day as well. I have a very personal, near and dear type of connection with the group that I think might make me a bit biased but I also feel like it doesn't discredit anything I've said. Their talent speaks for itself.

Fucking lol at this song knocking off that Diva... She’s going to get a few extra manservants to help her power through this setback

Just shows how loyal country fans can be. Even after Taylor Swift decided she was going “Pop”, they still buy her garbage.

I’ll say this... kids these days LOVE line dances. So any song that can get a dance attached to it is destined for money.

Songs that have no business being as popular as they are....

The Wobble is first that comes to mind.

Also a mention to Busta has to go out as being one of the main stays in Hip Hop for this long dating all the way back to Leaders of the New World, and showing up on the "Scenario" track with Tribe. Which is one of my favorite Busta features/verses EVER.

Should be banned for his name alone...

Mainstream Hipster-hop sucks nowadays.
I still remember 2pac, mobb deep, gangstarr, wu-tang etc on the radio/mtv and all that shit.

Now we have this sold out hipsters shouting the same word 1000000000x times over a beat my 5 year old could make, and they get airtime.

Chrous:
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang)
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang)

Spend three racks on a new chain (Yuh)
My bitch love do cocaine, ooh (Ooh)
I fuck a bitch, I forgot her name (Brr, yuh)
I can't buy a bitch no wedding ring (Ooh)
Rather go and buy Balmains (Brr)

Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang)
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang)
Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang (Gucci gang)

So poetic and thoughtful. It makes me laugh when these simpletons explain their lyrics and people act impressed. There's still good hip hop out there though, bro.

My wife and I had to go out for my little cousin's 21st a couple months ago. This song came on and my wife thought it was catchy and liked it at first. The look of disappointment on her face when he started rapping will never not be funny to me.

Just goes to show you how little I listen to regular radio now. I have heard the song a few times but nothing like when Z100 would play the same hit song all day long. This Little Nas X will make Vanilla Ice $$ off this.

From the Pitch Meeting guy

This comedian is amazing. I saw this video when @PEB posted this in another thread. He's channeling Justin Roiland hard with this vid. Don't miss this remix:
Tyron Woodly drops a remix to Old Town Road ft Randy Courte

I subscribed to his channel halfway through this Game of Thrones video. Epic comic takedown:

Previous thread on the song here:
Old Town Road is a global phenomenon

"Old Town Road" has already gone political (and I'm not talking about Nas's vague statements alluding to a non-traditional sexuality):
The white right in crisis mode, unable to find denim that fits their political views
(racist)Billboard removes black man's song of Country Charts

This "Country Trap" song has been quite the phenomenon. Can't remember the last time a song caused a stir quite like this on as many fronts with this level of success. My mind wanders to "This is America" by Childish Gambino; "We Won't Stop" & "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyris, ironically enough, as this song features her father; "Open Gangnam Style" by Psi; "I Kissed a Girl and I Liked It" by Katy Perry; "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke.

He's melting genre, cultural moors, and chart records all at the same time. Like it or not this is the stuff history is made of.
