*Liberal Trigger Warning*...Trump's Border Wall Is Happening.

I can write a damn good outline for a movie I want to have made. The outline is the first of many steps though. His wall wont get built

A. Illegal immigration is on a sharp downward trend from Mexico
B. Our enforcement of existing laws has been working for 9 months now
C. The wall is a logistical nightmare
D. Congress will never approve it
E. The wall makes us look like a weak nation in an increasingly global society.

With regard to eggs, you can't deprecate something with a useful life of less than a year, so unless you like REALLY rotten eggs...

Second, a tank would be an investment by definition,

http://www.learnersdictionary.com/definition/investment
3 a : the act of spending money on something that is valuable or expected to be useful or helpful

But my accountant wife got a good laugh out of your eggs comment, thanks.

Ask your wife what a depreciation schedule is.

I guess by that logic Mexico is scared of latinos too, considering their southern border is fenced off.

I dont know where that is but certainly not the Mexican southern border, just going by the climate.

More like.

A first look at 8 possible versions of President Donald Trump's border wall
Rafael Carranza, The Republic | azcentral.com Published 6:00 a.m. MT Oct. 18, 2017 | Updated 9:09 a.m. MT Oct. 19, 2017

SAN DIEGO — Workers toiled in intense 95-degree heat here Tuesday, putting final touches on eight possible versions of President Donald Trump's long-promised border wall.

As an Oct. 26 deadline to finish the prototype border-wall designs drew near, The Arizona Republic toured the construction site a few dozen yards from the border that divides this city from neighboring Tijuana, Mexico.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection awarded eight contracts to six companies, including two from Arizona, to build the prototypes. Four are made of reinforced concrete, and another four incorporate additional construction materials. Construction began on Sept. 26, giving companies 30 days to finish.

It's the schedule at which an asset depreciates.

The post you were replying to was referring to investment as something's capability to continually produce jobs, like education. Producing a tank has a very fixed value/lifetime of what kind of jobs it creates.

Except, it is by definition an investment.

The jobs are both the government jobs of the people actually building the equipment. As well as the jobs sustained and created by the private companies which provide services or materials. Of course there is a limited time in which this investment will provide return, in the case of my city, we're hooked up for at least a decade.

Are you seriously going to argue that investment in military is more productive to a society in relation to job productivity than an investment in educating the populace?

Please quote where I ever said such a thing.

Please also go back and read the retarded posts I was replying to where I had to explain in detail the very basics of how an economy functions.

I use the word retarded sparingly, in these cases it was well deserved. If you actually go back and read them, I'm sure you'll agree. I warn you, they may actually lower your iq a point or two, proceed with caution.

Kong, you're literally one of the stupidest people in this subforum. It's been voted on and you were embarrassed in front of everyone, you're the last person who should call anyone a moron.

Last word is all yours retard, I know your ego is too fragile to just ignore someone lol.

Lol yes by losers like you. Which is meaningless. People I lambast daily.

not one quality poster voted for me. Not one. Unless you think the struggle and KONE and aviator shades are good Posters

You said the following:

You're a complete buffoon.

My city has a military complex which employs a good deal of our population. Furthermore, trumps military investments have greatly benefited our town and kept up job security for the foreseeable future.

You live in a liberal fantasy safe space.

A wall doesn't create jobs. Investment in infrastructure, education, safety net programs create jobs. This wall burns through tax money and nothing more economic comes from it. Similarly, military manufacturing doesn't create jobs. Unnecessary things which don't add to our economic engine are ultimately job killers.

If we spent 1 billion dollars to build the world's biggest dirt pile, what do we have when it completed? 1 billion in debt and a worthless pile of dirt.

It seems to me that you are saying someone "lives in a liberal fantasy safe space" when they suggested that job creation is better served by investments in infrastructure and education, to which you retorted about the military in your town.

Which is why I wrote this post:

By building a wall, do you mean repairing and augmenting the fence that already exists? I swear, as the number of vocal Trump supporters dwindle, they just get dumber and more misinformed.

To which I astutely pointed out he was a buffoon for saying.

im skeptical about the effectiveness of the wall, but welcome it nonetheless.

the symbolism, the jobs, and less migration = win win win

trump can eat a dick on everything else he does though
This is a weird stance. A non trump supporter supporting the wall. Not judging you or anything, just don't see that very often (don't think I've ever seen it?)

Another useless comment from kong derps. You ever just shut the fuck up?

Although it's mostly symbolism, a wall makes sense in certain spots. Obviously they'd have to have more than just a wall for it to be truly effective though.

They already have fencing in those certain spots that you mention.

Also; stop saying wall. It needs to be see through, at which points it's more of a window.

The damage has already been done. Arnold even gave drivers licenses to illegals in Cali ..
