*Liberal Trigger Warning*...Trump's Border Wall Is Happening.

Mexico's southern border is smaller than 1/4 of our border with them, and there are no deadly deserts.

What barriers Mexico did build are also not the length of the entire border and what is built is completely circumvented by the Suchiate River.

It's also a fence, not a wall. Also, that is a picture of a fence on the Israeli-Egypt border, not Mexico-Guatemala.

You are fake news.

Here is a picture from the actual Mexico-Guatemala border.

@Rod1 can you translate?

TBH I did not verify the pic, I just grabbed the first decent resolution one from google. So I will concede that to you.

Fence/wall, either way they use a barrier where they feel its needed, with barbwire no less.

American taxpayers will pay everything while Trump gives tax breaks to churches and the wealthy,

This will be an economic catastrophe.

No you didn't you fell for fake news.

That image has been paraded around by you dorks for months as real.

lol

The fencing we have is already way better than that piece of shit.

You don't know what you're talking about, only what you copy paste from your echo chamber.

Fucking chain link. Are you fucking serious?

<Dany07>

You realize we already have hundreds of miles of this right?

And this is a fucking old map. We have constantly improving border security since 2009.

There were multiple bills passed in the early 2000s when illegal crossings were actually a problem in the wake of 9/11.

Specifically the Secure Fence Act of 2006 and the Enhanced Border Security and Visa Entry Reform act in 2002.

If you google mexico southern border wall, that img comes up all over the first page.

I took a lil bit more time and showed you another pic of their border , with a sign and barb wire fence. A barrier is a barrier. Some are cheap, some are good.

The current us/mexico border fence is insufficient security and thats why it's being upgraded.

Ssssshhhhh. Americans dont care about our history, much less Chinese history. We only care about the fact that the wall is standing, not if it's goal was attained.....

Reporting from Guatemala City, Danilo Valladares of the Inter-Press Service (IPS) notes that there will be one more barrier for Guatemalan immigrants in their trek to the United States. In addition to dodging dangerous drug traffickers and immigration officials, the latest obstacle is emerging: a wall between Guatemala and Mexico.

According to the head of customs for Mexico’s tax administration, Raul Diaz, the Mexican border state of Chiapas is constructing a wall along the country’s southern border with Guatemala, along the river Suchiate which divides the countries. Diaz says the purpose of the wall is to prevent the passage of contraband, but admits, “It could also prevent the free passage of illegal immigrants.”

According to Mexico’s National Commission on Human Rights (CNDH), 500,000 people from Central America cross into Mexico illegally every year — the vast majority of them attempting to reach the United States. In addition, smugglers reportedly use the Suchiate River to move goods across the international border without paying duty taxes.

Just as Mexican authorities have opposed more strict border enforcement and the construction of a border fence along the U.S. border with their country, Mexico is now receiving a great deal of criticism from Guatemalan officials.

Dude, I'm not denying the existing of a southern Mexico wall. I'm only telling you it's not what you think it is because you've been misled. Every country has fencing and walls near high traffic border regions.

The walls and fences along the US border are already exponentially better, they also cover exponentially more of the border.

Erm you do realize that the border ends where the yellow paint is?

Agreed, but there is still plenty of open border that is unprotected. It is a security concern for a lot of comminities that are located on the border, and building a longer wall will make it easier for border agents to stop illegal crossings.

As a Latino I believe coming into this country legally should be an important issue to fight for. God knows if and when this wall gets built even as a symbol the US has the right to do so it’s our land and country......and I say ours because I consider myself American above anything else

This is a weird stance. A non trump supporter supporting the wall. Not judging you or anything, just don't see that very often (don't think I've ever seen it?)
I support his stance on immigration. I'm not sure how weird that is. There's plenty of non-Trumpers who are anti immigration. Ben Shapiro being a prominent one.

Saw the most recent cost estimates.

It would cost us at least $6bn-$7bn (before eminent domain disputes) to build a "wall" purely out of standard chain link fence. That's just materials and labor. LMFAO.

I'm sure you literally have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

<TrumpWrong1>

Mexicos Head of Customs Raul Diaz confirmed the building of the southern border fence and that pic clearly shows the border, and barb wire fence surrounding it.

Just because its not as massive as the walls us is building does not mean it's not a barrier.

I have no problem with the wall. But will it be a symbol of something like the berlin wall? And will it come down in a few years of a dem is elected.
