It's quite simple. The point is that it's unwise to use anonymous social media postings that may not be from real people, or posted sincerely, to make assertions about the behavior of real people.

So you’re telling me that “a lot” of people on a website that theoretically billions of people can access, are posting opinions that we can’t verify are real? A better way of feeling out for this is if the liberal/leftist subreddits or media outlets had this sentiment, but random comments here and there in which half of the thumbs up or upvotes are by conservatives like me doesn’t mean anything.
