That was a bizzaro fight. I kept thinking - oh, he's saving it for the 2nd. 2nd closes - no action. Oh, he's saving it for the 3rd; weird strategy. Fight ends - WTF???

Right when I said, "Herb, do something!" he stopped the fight to tell them to engage. Made me forgive Herb's questionable calls the past couple years. At least he tried

He listened to you

on top of the 2nd lowest strikes ever, there was literally zero grappling. and only like 3 total seconds of clinchwork.
At least in Pulver/Roque, there was a tonne of grappling exchanges (well, attempted)

I thought Wonderboy/Woodley have been close to the record.

Bring over pride yellow cards. That was fucking bullshit.

I was so bored i thought it went 50 rounds.

He was saving it for after the bell. Best shot Ngannou landed all fight

I was thinking the same thing yesterday

What Herb could do in that situation? Taking a point to each fighter it would have been very stupid

Really wish he just had a yellow card in his pocket, just to show them how terrible they were. Both guys should have been disqualified by the 3rd.

Francis was scared shitless of gassing. I think his next fight will be on prelims.

Imo this is an important finding. Despite not punch heavy many of the low punch output fights were clinch/ground fighting heavy with sometimes fantastic scrambles. Here it was literally nothing. You could have given both a starbucks coffee in one hand and it would have not seen out of place.

Wait how the fuck were there more then 42 strikes landed in Woodley vs Shields?

Oh my goodness. For sure the worst heavyweight fight I’ve seen in a long time. That was like mir vs cro crop without the knee.

Any comment from Uncle Dana following this fight?
