Lewis = Glass canon?

The lower half of his body barely works. Those hips are all sorts of fucked.

Dude could barely move on Saturday. If that's just his normal, there's nothing left to see from Derrick Lewis and it's time to hang 'em up.

I think one of these guys from UFC 1 might have beaten the version of Lewis. At least they were capable of dishing out (and taking) a bunch of shots from each other before gassing.

Bro, Zane Fraser beat the fuck out of Frank Dux. Not a fair comparison.

The first time he went down Waldo had to wait for him to roll over like a walrus and get up, ridiculous.

I'm 46 and in shit tons of pain every day.

I can only imagine what kind of pain someone who spent 15-20 years cage fighting has got.

Dude looks OLD and beat up.

Probably got a fucked up back and maybe a fucked up knee.
Wouldn't be shocked if he made some questionable health decisions over the years too.

I ain't judging the man. I'm sure he has his reasons.
He more than proved he can tough it out and show heart
Even gladiators get old.

People don't realize how fucking terrifying Sapp was in the first few years of his career.

He just stopped caring about winning and it all went downhill from there.

It was probably the broke orbital from crocop. Part of me doesn't blame him.
Not many people wanted a serving of this at the time:

I think he wasn't really a fighter at heart. A comment from that time has always stuck with me, that he has a kind face and is an athlete or performer at heart, not a fighter. I think he was (is) better suited mentally to that side of things. And he's good at it too.

dude being a natural heavyweight must make pro mma feel like such an easy career rn
If you're a natural HW with a modicum of athletic talent, and apply yourself seriously you can go on quite a run crushing local and regional cans. Maybe some low-tier nationally-known fighters. It happens quite often - but the great majority of those quickly fade away once they make it to the big pool, and the numbers are such that they're up against very talented and committed people their size for the first time.

Being one of the edge weight classes makes that final step or two up that much harsher. Plus HWs have the power to really punish you for any weakness or error.

Always been a fan of Lewis, he has given us some big KOs over the years, but his career has always been like this, one fight he shows up looking awful and totally flat and lethargic, and then the next fight he comes out and lays the guy out cold brutally. Won't be surprised if he wins his next fight by brutal KO, thats the way its always been with him

He should move to slap fights @Slapjit
Exactly my thoughts! He doesn't really get KO'd, just kinda gives up.

Imagine if after he takes a big shot, his coach could immediately pause the action and give words of affirmation like "You ate that shit! Easy work! He ain't got shit for you! C'mon baby, breathe...breathe now go knock his fucking ass out", instead of Black Beast just turtling up and getting pounded.

#PowerSlap is percect for guys like BBL.

Then he comes out next fight and does a jumping 360 spin kick on some cans head

Rosier's striking was crude & basic but he was strong & extremely tough & had an iron jaw. He was a guy who had a very strong will & desire to win. His opponent Frasier said he had in asthma attack during that fight & that's we he got fatigued & then beat up.
