Economy Let's talk gas prices

I was just reading that gas prices were last this high in 2014. I'm not all that surprised considering Biden's anti- fossil fuel policies. Under Biden I'm guessing gas prices will only continue to go higher.

Additionally as I read liberal green activists are having success of late, and that likely means much higher gas prices in the future.

This administration is a straight up thief in the night when it comes to your money. Many of those hours you put in at work to save up money were all for nothing because the democratic agenda needs to be pushed on us all.

I'm don't understand where your "consensus" for inflation comes from (I'm sure the issue is my lack of knowledge). Pretty much every place I saw pegged expected inflation around 7-8%. That's why I was very surprised to see you claim it would be under 3%.

Haven't seen anything close to that. Fed is projecting 2.4%, Morningstar is at 2.9% (2.5% core). I was thinking of the breakevens, which is at 2.4% (that is 10-yr avg, but heavily reflects short-term expectations, too). I'd definitely bet against 5%, much less 7% to 8%.

To your last question, I honestly don't know.

Real GDP growth will probably be at the highest annual level in a very long time this year, and we should see strong growth going forward. That's in large part due to the bills that you're complaining about. Really good times for America on the way.

Its a hard time for these guys.. We have a president who uses full sentences and doesn't act like a forum troll on twitter rambling out lies 24/7 .. Things like this gas thing and other small potatoes are their only "gotcha" moments and fake ones at that.. The republicans have always been the "outrage porn" party... look left while we do terrible things right
What's fake about the gas prices? They instantly started going up once Biden got elected. I don't care about what side you vote for but obviously you are fine with paying higher gas prices. Oh wait you will probably just say this always happens lol.

not sure where you got your info from but it was going up all during the election and historically it always goes up every memorial day
n 2018, the average cost for a gallon of gas was $2.97, according to AAA. The following year, the average was around $2.80, Donald Trump, who served as president during those years
A variety of factors are driving the higher price, including increasing demand as more Americans take to the road as pandemic restrictions lift and a shortage of tank truck drivers to deliver fuel.

The National Tank Truck Carriers, the industry’s trade group, told CNN in April that 20% to 25% of tank trucks were parked because of a lack of drivers.

Industry experts have warned that this driver shortage and the continued reopening of the U.S. economy, among other factors, could lead to potential gas shortages ― and thus higher prices ― this summer.

but i know fact and that stuff dont matter to you only "BIDEN BAD MAKE GAS MORE DOLLARS HURR DURRRR"

FYI gas is only $2.70 where i live so its LOWER than the last 2 memorial days under Trump

but you have a nice case of Biden derangement syndrome

I've seen gas around here from a low of 2.52 (Sam's Club) 2.64 (non membership needed business) to 3.09 for regular.

I just filled up a few minutes ago. $2.84 per gallon in Austin for diesel.

Making a killing on Valero (VLO). Rising fuel price is fine.

Lol I got my info from paying at the pump. Was under $2 a gallon and then went up towards $2.40 a gallon after Biden got elected and has continued to steadily climb to about $2.89 in my area so please stop mentioning memorial day. Also I didn't vote for Trump in both elections so take that random political view out of here since it doesn't fix this problem that almost all Americans are dealing with

Im not reading all this thread but I hope the Republicans blaming Biden also held W to the same standard when gas was over $5

Yep nothing to read here. Just all of a sudden gas prices have jumped up again like in the Obama era. No correlation at all. Stupid Republicans did this.

Except they did it first under George W in '06 but since I found out you don't read and only react ill just leave. Hopefully you do better in 2nd grade.

So reasonable. Surely the rental car companies knew they were creating a shortage of cars to rent. Prices have more than tripled here. Even for an October trip the price is just as big.
I don’t think they planned this. Car rental companies are pretty badly run. I doubt they are even capable of anything like this. They were just lucky that they all have low inventory at the same time so one can steal market share from the others. Definitely just lucky

Gas prices are too fucking high. Especially for a Jeep driver like myself. Cock suckers

What does '06 have to do with today? I know it's a tough pill to swallow but the gas prices might have been lower under trump. Now they are all of a sudden going back up? It's all good though because both sides are shady.
