Economy Let's talk gas prices

Not to mention electric cars currently are too expensive for many americans. That may change, but I don't people suddenly running out to spend $40k on an EV

Yep. For the moment we should be working on alternative fuels and making current combustion engines more efficient. Diesels are roughly 20% more efficient than gasoline. Maybe start there.

We're still using camshafts and poppet valves. There's alternatives, engines that are much more efficient in design and use.

Yeah. We need more giant holes in the planet where companies strip mine Lithium.

Bonus points for not having the electrical infrastructure to support charging hundreds of thousands of cars or the ability to recycle all of those batteries.

Just like the vegan goofs raping the Amazon.

It’s up 35% by me since November. According to this chart, it hasn’t been this high in 9 years.
I don’t know enough about gas policy to blame all of this on Biden, but I have to assume most of it can be traced back to his policies. Feel free to correct me ...

I know it always goes up in the summer, but it’s only March atm, too early for that annual rise.

Its problary going to continue to rise during the summer/spring. This is because Biden has decided to go green energy.
So expect the oil prices to rise.

You aren't even American

Why do you hate poor people?

Non homeowners aren’t gonna be able to install charging stations at their apartments

Yet his approval is through the roof.

It's a really low roof. Take away stimulus checks and he doesn't hit 50's. It's even worse if vaccines weren't available.

What has Biden and his Admin done that is a net positive for the American people? Please enlighten us.

Lol in Toronto some houses don't have driveways and you'd have to run an extension cord across the sidewalk to charge your car... IF you could get the spot in front of your house, which you almost never can.

But yeah, can't wait for next car to be electric.

I’m quite certain it has plenty to do with Biden’s policies. I was chatting with one of my dealers from Alaska the other day. Most business in the state are very much tied to the UBI system they have based on oil revenue. I floated that he must be pretty happy about the climbing prices and he replied that the prices were no help because Biden had shut down major swaths of production in the state. It just is what it is.

These issues caused gas prices to spike

#1 cuck biden elected
#2 keystone pipeline fucked by cuck biden
#3 texas snow

Yet his approval is through the roof.

so was Hitler's

Hope they keep rising so people start buying more electric cars.

holy shit could you be any more fucking racist guy????
Electric cars are more expensive and blacks have lower income so forcing people to buy more expensive cars in inherently racist...I mean, if I have learned anything from NYT and WaPo it is that plus a bunch of fake Trump quotes.

As someone who owns oil stocks it has been freaking awesome. Was going to unload them when Joe won but the prices are going to stay up and those stocks pay dividends.
Yemen rebels are bombing House of Saud oil ports. House of Saud And Russia price war has ended and more people are driving. OPEC has decided to produce less to keep prices higher. Most oil companies got crushed when oil barrels went negative a year ago combined with less people driving. They will keep the prices up to get whole again. All of them in the last year cut the fat to lessen losses so now they are lean and mean and ready to profit.
Gas prices are a partisan Rubes talking point. Too many factors from other countries for a President to control oil prices.

And you don't see that as a major problem for people who don't own their own house with garages?

Gas cars will be around for a long while. I'm all for letting and pushing electric cars to advance, especially when it's cheaper per mile with electric, but don't be banning or sabotaging gas powered cars and all the benefits they offer over electric still.

Electric cars tho, it's not as easy as just plugging in an extension cord. If you want to drive your car more than 30 miles a day you'll need to install a charging station that may or may not be within the amp rating of your utility service to your home. If you don't own your home, you probably aren't gonna convince a landlord to install one for you. If you just want to try and charge your car off a wall outlet, it's 28 hours to charge a Tesla model 3 and 65 hours for a model X. Whereas gas it's 5 minutes at a pump.

Yeah, gas prices generally have almost nothing to do with presidents. When a president someone doesn't like is in, people point it out when the prices go up and then get quiet when they go down. When a president someone does like is in, it's the opposite. Like stocks.

Does anyone remember when Gingrich and others were saying gas would be $10/gallon if Obama won in 2012. Oops! :)

Does anyone 'member when the sky screamers clutched their pearls and screamed at the heavens that Trump would start nuclear war with:

1. North Korea
2. Iran
3. Russia, despite being an accused Russian agent/asset/spy?

I do.

It was, and still is, quite hilarious.

do you have a gas pump at home?

No I do not. Slightly different situation but still a valid point.

I'm sure fast charge stations will be more abundant as battery car sales increase.

No not really.

Shit will all get worked out as more people get battery vehicles.
