Lets talk fishing

How was he cheating?

Mike Long is his name. He had a bunch of "Records". He basically would go around snagging big bass on beds on Private lakes that specialize in big bass, then put them in a secret livewell so he can use them in a tournament or to take a Lake Record.....something like that. There is a ton of Youtube Videos about it. Its craazzyyyy

Leave it to a fishermen to lie about some shit lmao

Speaking of Diamond Valley, did you see they stripped the record for LMB Bass cuz the dude was caught cheating???? Apparently he did it all over.....

Yea dudes a huge piece of shit.

I used to have a friend that I fished trout tournaments with just for fun. He was on the "Phoenix crew" back in the day. Stupid fuck used a pre-fished trout to turn in and got caught because it was super stiff and the eyes were foggy...

I don't like cheaters for tournaments and competitive stuff where everyone is supposed to be on a level playing field but cheating the laws a bit if you're catching and releasing and not harming the fish or environment I don't have a problem with. I look at it like those laws were made to protect the fish and environment from dumbasses and if you're not making an impact on either it isn't really a problem

Yeah no kidding. They've ruined so many crankbaits... or just broke me off. I had a few zoom WECs at one point and a striper relieved me of my favorite E-1s. New rule, if there are striper, I throw nothing I cant stand to lose
They will fuck up an Alabama rig for sure.

Conroe has a lot of them

I just spent some time watching the video and reading the article from the guy who busted him on film. Its humorous and very sad all at the same time... dude scammed people hard. He went as far as to even video other guys cheating like he was secretly doing and turning them in anonymously so he didnt have any competition.. which is almost equally as funny as him flipping that dead fish around in the water for his tournament partner to net for him. Wilddd

Was it this same dude who cut the tail off of a bass to try to make it qualify and got busted??

Uhhhh I don't think so. I'm pretty sure that was at a slot limit lake in Texas somewhere and this guy we're talking is from California

I remember years ago when they had a sting on DVL. Caught some assholes flylining live trout. Shit that was 15+ years ago. I wish you could fish live bait though besides shad and crawdads. I bet the record for LMB would be broken fairly quickly like that.
I was fishing at Quail lake one day, there’s a dude the I saw using live baby lmb. I throw plugs and caught nothing, he yanked three stripers in a matter of minutes while I watched. CAL-TIP

I live by the Thames and Wey and I’m definitely interested in getting into fishing. By which I mean I want to slump down by the river, asleep, with the radio playing cricket next to me. The blokes doing that always look extremely happy.

For most people, this is what fishing is all about.

Don't get me wrong, catching something nice is exhilarating. But mostly, being out on the water (or ice), peaceful, with some whiskey, beers, smokes, snacks and no damn interruptions..... heaven

Damn straight.

I have been checking alot of my areas around here. I began fishing in the delta sloughs then figured out that the lakes near me are better for relaxing and catchin fish. At the lakes there is so much space along the bank. At the delta there are very small pcokets to which you can fit a chair and fish. Unfortunately poeple will just come into your space at the delta and I cant blame them. But that isnt relaxing lol

I met Bill Dance when I was younger he’s the fucking MAN

The wife and kids are off to her parents place in France for a couple of weeks soon. I’m meant to be ripping up the flooring in our house and laying new stuff, as well as moving electrics, plumbing, plastering etc.

What I’m actually going to do is take a radio down to the river bank, find somewhere really comfortable, stick the cricket on, and have a really nice snooze for about 10 days. Might drink a can or two.

Big up the river bank massive. You’re winning.

I catch bass with jointed shadraps all the time at my local spot. They work well, so I don't even really bother switching it up too much. I live by a major reservoir that's excellent for fishing both off shore or by boat (row, as outboards aren't permitted).

What I really need to do it step up my trout game.

Side question: How many of you anglers fucks with the solunar theory?
The solunar theory is a hypothesis that animals and fishes move according to the location of the moon in comparison to their bodies. The theory was laid out in 1926 by John Alden Knight, but was said to be used by hunters and fishermen long before the time it was published.

It’s true to a degree, especially In coastal tidal influenced areas, but not because of why the article says or you’d believe.

The reason they relate to the movement of the son and the moon, is because this is what generates tides, and tides cause currents that move thier food, so they move. Case solved.
