Legend of the sport, is on a 3 fight win streak, and if he can somehow beat Volkan in his fight coming up in early May it pretty much puts him in title contention

Now, I am a Shogun fan, but I don't believe he has a championship run in-him whatsover. I was there in person when Jon Jones beat the shit out of him, and I was crushed.

but if somehow the stars aligned right and he can do it, I will be elated

I don't doubt that Shogun can secure his way to another title shot but beating Gus or DC will be a tall order for him.​

I don't think there was ever more of a one-sided championship fight where a class fighter was completely outclassed in every aspect. It was like a video game where Jones just kept rocking Shogun with every strike, was using flashy strikes, and just fucking around

next thing that comes to mind is Cody vs. Cruz, but less brutal

well, hopefully he can somehow with the grace of god knock out Volkan, maybe DC vacates the LHW title if he wins HW, and then in his fight against Gus for the Undisputed LHW title, Gus falls on a skateboard during the fight and Shogun can get a TKO


basically, and sadly, Shogun's career for success follows this:

-he can flash knock out Volkan, but will probably get KO'd himself
-he will absolutely get ragdolled by DC, this fight shouldn't be sanctioned by athletic commission. DC laughs when asked about a hypothetical fight with Shogun moreso than when people were asking about him fighting Volkan
-he will get picked apart by Gus, but small chance of flash KOin Gus, so we need this to be the title fight

People think that was an old worn out Shogun so it doesn't really count. Then you go look and see Shogun was only 29 years old when he fought Bones. Fans are like, but his knees! Shoguns knees were worn out! Alright whatever, he was 29 years old, it was a legit ass kicking by Bones.

its hard to stay in shape after multiple knee injuries. you can't wrestle, run, kick etc.
