Planned so well they didn't have a second belt on hand for himAlvarez took a dive that matchup
The UFC wanted Conor to be a double champ badly so they manufactured it and paid Eddie very well to go down in 2nd round
Eddie was tailor made to make Conor look good. He's a brawler who's decent at everything, not great at anything, and kind of wilted under the pressure and threw out any kind of game plan and stood there in Conor's strength and let him dictate the fight.
Agreed. I liken Alvarez winning the LW title over Dos Anjos to Sera over GSP or Bisping over Rockhold. Big underdog that won. He was only 4-3 with an NC in the UFC, and has only been 1-2 with an NC since leaving for OneFC. Very average. He fought a dumb fight against a peak conman and got destroyed. The weakest 155 champ of the modern era lost to the second weakest 155 champ of the modern era.
Eddie never chokes. He was even getting the better of him during some of the interviews.alvarez choked. he wasn't ready for all the media, fans, and theatrics that conor brings.
it was also low IQ. He likes to scrap, brawl, make it dirty. You can't fight conor like that.
I mean, short guys with no reach who want to stand in front of Conor and get picked apart is kind of the formula the UFC has used to make Conor look great, it's a fantastic matchup for Conor, don't believe all the dork fangirls that say Conor is washed because he lost to good fighters who were not midget sluggers, hes still just as good as ever and would probably wreck Chandler. If that's the case Conor is going to do the same same against Chandler
A low IQ brawler, right?
Probably. Not the exact same thing, because Conor's quite a bit slower than he was 7 years ago, but even after losing a few steps it's still probably the best matchup for him.If that's the case Conor is going to do the same same against Chandler
A low IQ brawler, right?
