Let's Not Pretend

It has a sparring pace distance striking 50-45 UD written over it. The way BB backs up and waits. He'll wait for 25 minutes. It's not a good match-up on paper.

Lewis has been defeated many times and Gane is the #1 toughest matchup for him since Gane is actually great defensively, has too much reach and is too well rounded. He will win with body shots since Lewis is soft there and Gane knows this.

Gane picks him apart imo, but in this case that he loses @Jean-MMA our av bet is still on correct?

I do think that bodyshots is Lewis's weakness. I think Gane is going to kick and punch to the body all night long. Probably mainly kicks since he can do that from greater distance.

Also.... the leg-kicks. I think Gane is going to constantly be kicking either Lewis's legs OR his body. Relatively low-risk tactic but bound to pay dividends. And yes, I can see Lewis feigning extreme pain from a bodyshot, and trying to entice Gane to come in for the kill......seen Lewis do that before.

Gane's coach explained they will not throw too much roundhouse kicks to the leg and body because Lewis is good a timing them. We should expect more teep to the guts and oblique kicks to the knee.

I see Gane picking him apart from kickboxing range and dropping Lewis with a kick to the body and then swarming him for the finish pretty early in the fight and this time when Lewis goes down he won't be playing possum.

Hope I'm wrong though. Pulling for Lewis.

Teep kicks : 100% I'd think. I can see repeated Teep kicks to Lewis's gut which he does hate, and it will also help to keep him at distance.

Even if the guy KOs most of his opponents? So statistically he most likely would get the KO since it's his usual path to victory. Meaning his KOs are not flukes and he's not just getting lucky every fight like most people want to assume. He's better than he portrays himself to be, that's why he catches people. He's a slow player if this was poker.
I'm not saying his KO's are flukes, but against someone as good as Gane it's just tough to pick him under those conditions. He could definitely win, but his chances are lower imo.

He had a higher chance turning it into a fight. Not sure what he was thinking trying to counter strike and wait for Gane. Did he and his team not learn from Paulo Costa fight vs Izzy? Gane will do the same leg kicks from distance and not engage and use his movement to move out of range when you try close distance. He needed a high guard and to walk Gane down and make it a fight. Gane is too technical to fight him in a technical style match. Don't know what Lewis and his team was thinking.

2 out of his last 6.
12 out of 21 in the UFC.

That means there are 9 people out of 21 who did not get KO/TKOd by Lewis. It's not especially rare.

On the other hand Gane is undefeated, and has faced KO artists.
It's still his best way to victory. You just proved my point with your stats. He didn't get it done, but to deny Lewis isn't a KO artist is kind of ridiculous. He's proven he's capable and he wins most of his fights by KO. Why just pick his last 6? So you can skew the narrative by adding 2 losses in there to lower his KO rate in his last 6 lol. Keep the stats factual and don't skew it to fit your narrative. I'm not dumb enough to not see what you did there. That will work on other people, but not me.

These one hit knockout guys, you would literally be saying I told you so right now if he landed one.

Now we gotta deal with “best fighter ever” bullshit.

No such thing as luck in fighting is bullshit.

Let it go, dude. Let it go.

Everytime he walked forwards he got punched in the face. Sounds like a more stupid plan than what he was doing.
