Let's Not Pretend

He had a higher chance turning it into a fight. Not sure what he was thinking trying to counter strike and wait for Gane. Did he and his team not learn from Paulo Costa fight vs Izzy? Gane will do the same leg kicks from distance and not engage and use his movement to move out of range when you try close distance. He needed a high guard and to walk Gane down and make it a fight. Gane is too technical to fight him in a technical style match. Don't know what Lewis and his team was thinking.
just admit I was right and move on brotha

That thread didn't age well...

Sorry for the beast, but bon gamin is quasi "plus-que-parfait"

You guys never learn, told you Gane is a specimen
He hasn't won the real belt yet, i won't and haven't denied his talent. But he wont get passed his former training partner and professional murderer ngannou

That Gane isn't taking a nap tomorrow night. I don't see how he beats Lewis. One of Derricks bombs will land and separate him from consciousness.

I think you might be retarded, you should really get yourself tested tbh.

He'll beat Ngannou as easily as he beat Lewis, Francis couldn't even beat Lewis ffs.

Gane will absolutely clown him and make him look like the amateur level striker he is.

Oh damn. How embarrassing.

Deadshot was dead wrong. Leave this to the pros next time newbie.

Eating a bit of crow here but that's fine. Lewis had that mystical aura around him like Conor and got exposed like Conor did too. War Gane.

You should have taken my words for it.. I have been in the game for long time

Right about what? I never said Lewis was going to KO Gane. I just said that's his best chance to victory and if you were assessing Lewis that's something you would factor in. You wouldn't fight Lewis and think he can't KO you. You game plan around that. Everyone thinking Lewis wasn't a KO threat is what I was arguing against. Even Gane knew that and that's why he was training a different way for this fight and had his sparring partners spamming overhand rights.

It's not too late for Francis to call coach Khabib. He needs to do something because he isn't beating Gane in the stand up.

Everytime he walked forwards he got punched in the face. Sounds like a more stupid plan than what he was doing.
That's the point, you don't just walk forward. Use a high guard and pressure forward. There's a difference in walking forward into strikes, and being a pressure fighter pressuring or using a high guard to walk someone down. Some people need better fight IQ. Gane just throws low kicks from range and moves back when you step in. Throws teeps to the body with some body kicks and long jabs. Everyone that fights him just stands there in his range and that's why they lose. They try to play his game when that isn't their fighting style. You are not going to out point Gane in that type of fight. They never account for Gane moving back when they rush in so they all just throw way too early and miss. They aren't used to fighters with footwork/movement since most HWs just like to rely on strength and size. Gane's style is seen in lower weight classes, just new to UFC's HW division.

He's using the basic stick and move fighter style. And how do other fighters fight those type of fighters in lower weight classes? With pressure and walking them down and making them fight on the inside. But since most heavyweights don't focus on footwork/movement/speed/athleticism he will have that advantage.

Let it go, dude. Let it go.
Let what go? I'm not emotionally invested in the fight and I didn't really cared who won or loss. Just stating the obvious, Gane's style isn't really hard to figure out. Not sure if his team was able to properly analyze his strengths and weaknesses, but judging from the corner advice I would say no they couldn't.

I'm speaking more on corner advice/strategy/tactics/fight iq, I don't really care who won. Just obvious to me a lot of people don't understand what they are looking at.

Always hard to pick the guy who requires a KO to win
