It really is a big transition from the Karate version of the straight right which is this:

Interesting that the Karate founders didn't see the need for a guard... Boxing instructors in my gym throw tantrums whenever a student drops his/hers guard and sends his assistant instructor there. As if someone committed a crime.

You can clearly see the bodymechanics in play throwing the punch in a relaxed and calm manner.

The punch you mean? Just drilling the basics in.
Every coach tells you to retract it immediately. Mostly so you use it to load the next strike.

Also, you're rocking back too much. If you wanted to follow up you'd have no power that far back, and if you wanted to slip or move laterally forward you have to reshift.

It'd be actually more productive to give a side view to see if you're doing it right.

I'm not purposely breaking your balls, but you're stiff in the vid. Its not relaxed

I think you're misunderstanding. That was just something I felt like doing for the purposes of the clip. To have a beginning, middle and end to it.

That's why I ordered 10oz. 16oz forces me to stiffen to avoid "sloppy hands", weighed down by the gloves. To concentrate the arm and fist properly with 16s I need to do this in my current shape.

I don't have issue depending on glove size. As do others I train with.

The difference is 40 grams, not 10lbs. Whip the arm out and start with the hip, and everything follows after. Think of it as a ball and chain

The trajectory and control of my arm gets easily warped, tired and sloppy by 16s. I found a huge difference just trying out the 14s in the gym.. Perhaps my Everlast 16s are unusually heavy. Or I am just terribly out of shape right now.

It's 4 months since I boxed and had a falling out with the instructor. And my leg was damaged around this time in TaeKwondo sparring.

Wong Jack Man. Its just to put things into perspective. These were two guys training for some years and having some students. In terms of boxing a beginner who wants to fight amateur.

Only with delusional grandeur of being the best as it is in TMA. It was a fight like any between two low skilled brawlers. Wong was a waiter at a restaurant as his job (nothing to talk down to) and from all more reasonable accounts handled Lee). Lee later apologized to Wong for lying about the outcome because he had to market his school.

Is that the rival Kung fu instructor who objected to Lee teaching foreigners?

I would like to know your sources for these claims. Very conspiratorial. Every eye witness says Lee took him apart.

Really does it matter. Both were nobodies. Sure Lee claimed he won. just read how the fight played Out. Its years but I will look it up If I am bored to death.
