Let's be honest: The UFC outplayed McGregor bigtime

Even tho I hate Zuffa and the UFC it is kinda funny

But the Lesnar announcement was the killing blow. The Nuke Dana and the boys had up their sleeves. There's only ONE guy who is a bigger draw than McGregor, and that's Brock Lesnar.

I agree it was a crafty move. But, that being said, McGregor outsells Brock. Brock was selling like 700k ppv the last he fought and his high ppvs were built around this idea of 'the baddest man on the planet', not a guy who has been easily beat a number of times. Diaz McGregor, a non special numbered event, sold nearly just as much UFC with the GSP/Lesnar combo.

Agreed, Conor over played his hand but he still outsells Lesnar, GSP, etc any day of the week. Possibly Conor's numbers will drop big time after the Diaz loss but until then, he is the best selling star in all of combat sports.

Lesnar returning was all about putting the afterburners on McGregor and his little rebellion. He tried to use Floyd but it didn't work. Dana and the boys pulled out their big guns and essentially iced the little Irishman... Sticking him on UFC 202.

Game, set, match.
If Conor had beat Diaz, he would have had the UFC's balls in a vice. He could have doe whatever he wants. The moment he lost, the UFC got the upper hand.

Nate iced McGregor's (and the UFC's) plans of setting up the GSP vs MvGregor superfight.

Brock being back proves McGregor isn't the biggest gun on the block. UFC does bigger numbers than any card McGregor has been on.

Mcgregor transcends the sport, is the greatest of all time, made the ufc 400 million in one event, could hang with mayweather in a boxing match, and lost to Nate Diaz because of the massive size difference despite him saying size doesn't matter which he proved by beating Hafthor Bjornsson in a “fight".

At least, that is what I have learnt from reading this forum.

He also runs boxing.

How do those numbers compare with inflation? The UFC is a lot bigger then it was 5-6 years ago. If Brock did that stuff today... Jesus christ.

Imagine the UFC is a board and McGregor is on the beach.

I tried this shit like a week ago in my pool. My legs barely moved.

That gif will never get old

Unless that killing blow came repeatedly at the end end of a foam noodle not really much of a blow in my opinion. McGregor says OK and brings out Floyd, UFC says "F*K YOU" and says I'll see your Mayweather and raise you Brock Lesner, what about GSP? A actual mma fighter why not workout something with him and his sponsors for a one night only affair if you gonna put on a exhibition fight.

It would have to be a while right? USADA needs like a few months notice don't they?

Nope, UFC can grant exemptions.

"The custom tailored UFC/USADA anti-doping policy, however, has carved out an exception to this 4 month period at the UFC’s sole discretion with the policy stating the “UFC may grant an exemption to the four-month written notice rule in exceptional circumstances or where the strict application of that rule would be manifestly unfair to the Athlete"

You just realized that now?

This Lesnar thing is a one off, I don't see how this is bad for McGregor, he's still the biggest star in the sport and can still sell more PPVs than UFC 200 at UFC 202 which will only increase his bargaining power. Lesnar is definitely a huge addition but don't be so quick to stick it to McGregor.

I mean, people were saying UFC 200 was ruined because of McGregor being removed. Now, I'm pretty sure this is the first thread about him compared to 100 Lesnar ones. Absolute irrelevancy. Dana and the boys playing chess. McGregor playing checkers.
Actually it's Dana and the boys playing checkers and McGregor playing chess, this Brock fight is a one off and only benefits them short term, McGregor is the guy who will be sticking around and has more impact on their long term future.

I wonder how long ago did the UFC knew Lesnar would be on the 200 card...

It probably wasn't finalized until recently. Dana mentioned a few weeks ago about something "mind-blowing" in the works.

It's hilarious how much sherbros revel in the chance to say a few bad words about McGregor on the internet, you're so tough bros.

If anything, this shows how desperate the UFC became with the re-scheduling of Conor Diaz II.

Bringing in a one off, one time contract fight is completely and totally out of Character for Zuffa and i think it shows the pull McGregor has that this is what is required to shore up a card he was pulled from.

Also I don't understand why people think Conor got owned here. There is still a UFC after 200. And Conor is headlining 202... $$$$$.
