Let's be honest, Merab has good cardio, that's it.

Whatever you say dude.

For context, your OP currently has three likes(all from known trolls). My post refuting it has 41 likes and counting.

Perhaps you missed something while watching the fight?

LOL, relying on likes to make a point now? Not like there are legions of haters filling up on schadenfreude, or that front runners have abandoned their posts for a fighter on a losing skid.

Merabs style of fighting makes me very sad.

Lol he won every round clearly and out struck Yan 2 to 1.

I swear some of you guys have no clue what you are watching.

Meh... that 2-1 statistic is not telling the story of the fight. In terms of clean, hard strikes landed, Merab was edging the rounds, not lighting Yan up as the stats suggest.

Merab is what Clay Guida wanted to be, if his extra head bobbing was reconstituted into pushing the action. Yan did alright, but if stopping takedowns was your main contribution to a fight, you only have yourself to blame. Merab certainly leaves himself open for all sorts of danger with his devotion to the chaos gods…..I think I was genuinely surprised Yan never found an opening.

I think Merab is physically much stronger and more explosive than Clay and thats why. He doesnt have fear to charge at guys, even when not shooting,he will run and lob a hard punch or kick with reckless abandon, cos he can physically absorb what will come back. He doesnt have to rely on quick flurries. He will throw hard.

He’s really good at more than just cardio. He’s versatile, he puts on a difficult pace to deal with, mixes strikes with takedowns using smooth transitions, he’s got very good hands and high kicks, some decent low kicks too.
He almost came up with the same gameplan as Aljo did in his first fight with Yan, but Merab was able to maintain thay crazy pace and drown Yan, never allow him to loosen up, and outpace him.

i was impressed with Merab!

Good call about the game plan. Yan has always had an issue with inactivity so the camp was smart to target it. Aljo couldn’t keep it up so they pivoted to backpacking in the the rematch. Went right back to it for Merab.

you're just silly. what i saw was a fighter with few weaknesses, cardio is just the best of what he has. can take the elite guys down and has the striking to hang with them on the feet. make all the hater threads you want but this guy is a real contender.
