Paul Varelans was in the same high school class of a boy who was killed by a Polar Bear. Then 8 years later when he became a MMA fighter.. his nickname was the Polar Bear. This is not a known fact, just something I know personally from two guys who trained him. Happened in Alaska. it seemed disturbing to me.

Overeem was a K1 champion, I think it's a ltitle unfair to call him 'an MMA dude'. More a succesfull kickboxer that transitioned well to MMA like Adesanya and Poatan

Poatan and Adesanya had spent many years in kickboxing before they switched to MMA.
Alistair started with kickboxing and MMA, but had a lot more fights in MMA before becoming K-1 champ.
