Lesser Known MMA facts

UFC 76: Knockout was the first card in the history of the UFC to not have a single TKO or knockout.

The first submission win in the UFC was via full mount.

If Chuck would've beaten Rampage in the 2003 Grand Prix, we would have gotten to see he and Wanderlei fight in (or close to) their primes.
Chuck slurs so bad, if he'd fought prime Wanderlei, he'd barely be able to walk by now.

Rashad Evans facts:

His fight with Michael Bisping was the first time ever two ultimate fighter winners fought each other.

His Fight with Forrest Griffin was the first time two ultimate fighter winners fought for a championship.

His fight with Lyoto Machida was the first time two fighters who were undefeated fought each other for a championship in the UFC.

His fight with Rampage was the first ever non title fight to ever do over 1,000,000 ppv buys.

He has wins over four former UFC champions and one former pride champion.
Chuck, Forrest, Rampage, Tito, and Henderson.

Before he was a pro fighter he was obsessed with Roy Jones Jr. and would watch his fights on bootleg video tapes he even cut his hair like Roy Jones Jr.

9 years later Roy Jones Jr. helped him spar

And was q

And was allllllmost the UFC Lhw champ.

Was almost the UFC middleweight champ too if he held on in the 5th round versus Anderson. Although he would have been stripped any ways because he tested positive but still tough luck for the American gangster.

Oh I could have sworn it was a knock down, but I havent seen the fight in years so that makes sense. Crazy that he hasnt officially knocked someone down under Zuffa. Still a beast though lol.

He seemed to hit alot harder in that fight. There was a head kick in the second that could have koed many fighters.

True dat.

Randy Couture & Brock Lesnar won the UFC HW title in there 4th MMA fight. The quickest to become UFC HW Champion in history.

This is a pretty crazy record. Guy definitely deserves another shot at the big leagues.

Here's the thing with Jake O'Brian, he was good ...but he was a LnP Wrestler around the time the UFC was trying to purge their roster of such fighters.

He even beat Heath Herring but he did so by Lay and Pray and getting the decision.

Would be interesting to see how he does in the UFC now, only 31 years old.

That's pretty insane. I wish Clay, pre-Maynard, had won some UFC gold

Clay was ruined when he went to Jackson-Wink MMA, they turned him into a point fighter who relied on wrestling.

Lol, this Jake O'Brien dude has a 15-4 record. His losses are against....
Cain, Jones, Arlovski and Mousassi... Seems like a pretty solid dude who had some tough love in matchups.
Pretty crazy how things play out for some guys

It's a slow night on sherdog. Let's get a fun topic going.

Post some MMA facts that not a lot of people know about like let's see....

Brian Bowles has two wins over Damacio Page both wins by guillotine choke at 3:30 of the first round.

Jake O'Brien lost to Cain Velasquez and dropped to light heavyweight and lost to Jon Jones and was cut.

Renan Barao's UFC debut was supposed to be against Mighty Mouse.

Let's get some more going
Abraham Lincoln had a great passion for boxing and wrestling and was known to participate in matches. Long story short, Lincoln was a mixed martial artist and I think that's pretty cool.

Didn't Dana place/lose a $200k bet on Chuck Liddell winning the Pride MW grand prix?

Something like that. I don't recall how much the bet was but I remember him betting on Chuck to win it all.
