Media Leon Edwards scoffs at Colby Covington suggesting he would be stripped of the title

Hate to say it Leon, but the UFC would strip you for sitting out 20 minutes if they want you to fight Colby. I hope you whip Colby's butt, but don't think the UFC won't do you dirty...again.
 
"[insert fighter here] doesn't deserve a title shot because the UFC is a business and it has to make money and it should book title fights based on what's best for their business."

[insert fighter here] decides their fights based on payday, stylistic matchup, difficulty, etc. (as an independent contractor).

"WTF what a duck I can't believe they don't take on all comers and fight every weekend"
 
A pretty sensible interview.

Turned down Gilbert [Burns], turned down Khamzat [Chimaev], turned down Belal [Muhammad] and then come back to a title shot? It’s weird. It’s something that I’ve never seen before.

“When I was going through the pandemic having fight cancellations, Khamzat pulled out twice, I pulled out once, Masvidal pulled out, all these fights falling through – I got removed from the rankings for that, even though it was out of my control and wasn’t my fault. I got removed out of the rankings.

“For a guy to be fit and healthy, [sit] on the sidelines, turn down three or four fights and then say he wants to fight for the title, it doesn’t make sense.​
 
Leon does not want this fight but it is not his decision. Dana has said on multiple occasions that Colby gets the next shot. This is how the UFC has always worked, like it, or not. Leon knows he will have difficulty with Colby's wrestling and probably lose.

Leon needs to not over play his hand. Definitely not one of the privileged and would get stripped real quick if he pissed of the baldfather
 
Umm Leon is one to talk about sitting out he sat on his ass waiting for a title shot for close to two years 2019-2021, he knows Colby poses the biggest threat but now that there is no money fight for him anymore with Mas retiring he needs to take this fight, if he wins he will likely never have to face Colby again.
 
Who does this guy want to defend against?doesn't want to fight Belal,and doesn't want to fight Colby. Who does he want to fight?

To be fair they have done Colby dirty too. Remember when they were about to let him go despite winning all but 1 fight in the UFC or when they stripped him of his interim title? But yes, times have changed for Colby.
