Media Leon Edwards Completely No-Selling Colby Getting a Title Shot

Considering the run that Leon had to go on to get his shot at the title, I can understand where Leon is coming from when he says Colby doesn't deserve it but he then negates his point when he tries to fight Masvidal who clearly doesn't deserve another shot.

I think Leon can beat Colby but it certainly will be harder then beating Mas and I can't blame Leon for trying.

Leon: “That man sat out for like a year and a half, two years. Fought nobody.”

Leon sat out for almost 2 years, eye poked someone, then decisioned a way past prime Diaz and
got a title shot. One win in 3 years and gets a crack at the title.
Pot calling the kettle black.

In before someone says he was scheduled to fight Hamfat.

Crotch sniffing call the cops Colby sure does have a lot of fanboys peeing their pants over him. It doesn't take much apparently

I think the only way Leon doesn't fight Colby is if he calls out khamzat or shavkat.

It has nothing to do with win streaks. Colby as been the headliner for his past few fights. Leon is the champ but he doesn’t have much headline experience. I don’t think Leon has much say in this issue if the promotion keeps pushing.

Im not gonna tall about Colby deserving the shot or not, but why Leon acting like a superstar?
Most memorable moment he had before the hail-mary kick was being wobled by Diaz.
He should look at Francis If he thinks he holds any leverage.

And he had fights cancelled due to Covid restrictions and Khamzat getting Covid.
AND not to mention, that even if we were to concede this point to him that, "Well Leon was inactive and got a title," that doesn't justify THIS shot, it just makes BOTH shots look stupid

I 100% agree. If Usman has that difficult of a time getting and keeping Edwards down, I very much doubt Covington can do it.
I don't know. Usman is the more effective guy at it, but Colby's the more active guy about it. Even with a higher fail rate, Colby's more attempts might turn into success

I don't know why Leon is so afraid of Colby.
No.
Leon went on a 9 fight win streak to get a title shot. Last loss 2015.
Colby's claim to fame is giving Usman a tough fight.
I don't blame Leon at all for being irritated.
That being said, he is the champ and should fight anyone.

He was scheduled to fight Hamfat 3X.
Colby would never take that fight.
I would rather see Burns with a win or Rhackmonov with a win get the title shot.

I don't know why Leon is so afraid of Colby.
Yeap, afraid a guy like "Cold Sore" Colby without 1 win against a current top 10 fighter is gifted a 3rd freaking title shot.
Afraid a horrible precedence of idiotic smack talking outside the ring actually determining who gets what inside the ring - so much for the actual fights eh??........ I was afraid of that.

Good to know that a guy who beat Usman twice is "afraid" of some idiot that lost to Usman twice. Colby is trying to weasel his way into yet another title shot before he become the "Herpes Has-Been" - the clock is ticking.

I don't think he is, I think he's pissed off that when he was inactive due to his opponents pulling out of fights he got removed from the rankings but when Colby is inactive due to his own fault he gets a title shot. On top of that Edwards called out Colby when Colby was ranked higher and he turned it down, now the shoe is on the other foot.

It appears to have nothing to do with being afraid of Colby and it is all about how the UFC treated Edwards like shit and is rewarding Colby's choice to be inactive when it was Edwards being inactive due to covid restrictions and Khamzat getting covid they punished him by removing him from the rankings.
Bingo

Although I comprehend Leon's perspective, currently, Colby is the most significant fight on his horizon and undisputedly the top contender in the division.

A victory over Colby Covington would be a tremendous boost for Leon's career, elevating his status in the sport.

If Leon Edwards seeks a substantial payout from the UFC and desires a fight that adds to his legacy, then accepting the fight with Colby Covington is an obvious choice.

masvidal retires and colby is his only money draw at this point.... unless he thinks connor is a viable option.
