Hasn't Leon been with them since day 1?
Why the fuck would they just open their doors to Garry who hasn't done shit for them. Leon is their guy not Garry, this makes perfect sense to me. Garry seems like a pretty stupid guy.

Yes. Renegade was a small time jiu jitsu outfit (who branched off from Braulio Estima's gym) while Leon and the other main MMA fighters from that generation were in a super gym called UTC.

UTC closed down probably due to the money in MMA at the time not covering the crazy expenditure they put in the gym, then the fighters mostly moved over to Renegade and helped it become what it is today.

Renegade might not have survived if that didn't happen as their main jiu jitsu coach from that era left them.

he prolly got banned for spreading cold sore herpes all over the mat after his repeated warnings to stay at home under hazmat isolation for a month under the same lysine contingency routine that killed the jurassic park dinosaurs or at the very least wear a covid anti mouth herpes spread mask

Yes

Hendo said that he had to kick Strickland out of the gym, because Sean was just too much for people to handle.

Hendo said he appreciated Strickland pushing everyone, but others just couldn't handle it.

So, when you have a fighter who needs to be removed from a gym because he is too overwhelming, or simply has too much presence... you can bet that something good is about to happen.

191cm at WW, can spell serious trouble if he learns how to use his height properly.

This douchebag is probably gonna get a giant UFC push cause they're desperate as ever for stars.

They don’t want their camp to

Ian Garry recently revealed that he has been removed from Leon Edwards’ Team Renegade gym in Birmingham, England.

While Garry (13-0) has trained in several gyms throughout his career, his recent squads have been Kill Cliff FC (formerly Sanford MMA) in Florida and Edwards’ Team Renegade. However, the undefeated welterweight prospect was recently booted from Team Renegade. Something he isn’t very happy about. According to Garry, Edwards (21-3) and his coach Dave Lovell were concerned about training with another ranked contender inside the gym.

“Leon and his head coach had an issue with me training on the mats and recently have asked me not to train there, because ‘Leon doesn’t want any insecurities or doubts on his own mats, within the gym,’ which I don’t fully understand,” Garry told The Independent.

“I get that we’re both in the Top 10 and you might see me as a threat, but I’m not a threat to you right now; I’m not fighting for the title right now. His coach said the words: ‘Ian is a threat; I cannot have Leon having any doubts or insecurities.’

“That makes me think someone is weak-minded and can’t have another contender training on the mat. That’s why gym conflict is annoying. For me, why not have that other elite guy on the mat? Why not train with him? Why not have him push you? Why not learn and grow from each other?”

Garry also categorically mentioned that Ash Begg and Tom Breese, who run Team Renegade, were welcoming to him and there are no issues between them.

Team Renegade subsequently issued a statement to The Independent clarifying their decision to deny Garry time on their mats.

They don’t want their camp to be a stepping stone for contenders. If there was loyalty there there would be trust but in all fairness, theres no reason to trust that building up Garry in that camp will do anything for the overall benefit of the team and it’s mainstay Leon. No blame on either side. Garry is a nomad sourcing intel from all over, Renegade is a highly exclusive camp that depends on deep ties, loyalty and narrow focus of attention. Different approaches, both have shown to work. No harm no foul.

Leon should've let Gary train there. The guy is obnoxious but has real skills, and would've made a good sparring partner. Pretty sure Gary won't be fighting for a belt for at least two years. Leon won't even be champ by that time.

not too familiar with garry yet, but any time someone starts kvetching about the “culture” of their exclusive group, you know you’re in the company of a difficult person. just based off the article it sounds like garry didn’t do anything wrong.

he’s being built up the right way. He has 13 fights. Khabib didn’t fight his first ranked opponent till he was 22-0 lol
Khabib fought his first ranked opponent in his 3rd fight, and his first top 10 in his 4th UFC fight, in his 2nd UFC fight he fought Tibau whi would easily be top 15 at the time but there was no official rankings in 2012

Garry is delusional.

He keeps getting fed favorable matchups. He is fighting the corpse of Luque next.

That's what they did to Gane until the title fight.
"Give him only strikers until he is ranked #2 or #3, so we can give him a TS."

Not saying he might not have good TDD.
He seems champion material, actually.

Leon kicked him out because Gary was moving up the ranks. No shit he didnt want him there.. why would he want a future opponent as a gym mate?

You want them to be buddies and avoid fighting each other??

Learn from eachother, inspire eachother

That sounds less like tears than it does like common sense. Why would he want a surging prospect to benefit from training with him and learning his moves??!?

He can benefit himself from learning from eachother and inspiring eachother!

It's a Benefit for both!

EDIT: I don't know if Machado is a douche or not!

No need for doubts and insecurities though
