I don't know. The top 5 at FW has been stagnant for six months. Not even a single fight has been booked, and it's even more difficult now since 4 of them aren't in America (volk, zabit, KZ, Yair)
At least someone in the top 5 at WW is fighting (Woodley vs. burns)
The situation with Usman, Conor, Masvidal, Diaz, and Covington is far more annoying though because they're playing games
It's ironic. The most stacked and exciting divisions are also the worst My favorite division is the bantamweight division. Same shit.
Featherweight... "Max volk rematch fuck zombie and meritocracy " seems to be the order of the day and top five guys won't call each other out etc.
LW. Worst offender. Cannot understand why we have tony, khabib, conor, poirier in the same division but we couldn't get tony/dustin, conor/dustin 2, conor/tony, conor/Justin before he became interim champ etc. It's extremely frustrating. Tony and Conor were one spot from each other in the rankings but we never got to see that. Instead we got tony/cowboy, tony/pettis etc. Predictable outcomes.
WW is better than lw talent wise. Neal, luque, Thompson, leon edwards, ponzibbio, magny and those are your lower ranked guys.
I dislike adesanya. But, even though he lost some good will after that romero fight, the fact that he called out the guy whom I thought he was ducking, showed me that he's actually about that life. So I don't worry about middleweight. I think he'll be a great champ and always do right by the division.
Bw all the way up to WW, red flags.
And I find it disturbing how hell bent ufc is on tainting divisions' credibility. Max and Co. Worked so hard to undo the damage done to featherweight when it got clogged up after Aldo. Now dana is ruining that energy by forcing this rematch. Honestly, I don't even think max would mind fighting a contender (yair please, he's due for another beating), bantamweight looked beautiful after tj dillashaw was expelled. It was also nice to imagine a team alpha male and rivals free future... Then triple C started his shit. And I also hate how "we make the matches fans want to see", but Noone ever went out on a limb and begged for cejudo vs aldo/cruz. It's bananas. Lightweight is a lost cause because there's always the threat of conor getting his grubby little hands on a title shot and screwing YET another fighter I actually respect out of an earned title shot. If Dan hooker wins I'd give him the next TS.
