It also says they have perfect logic, so surely they would come to the conclusion that they have even numbered eye colors on the island.
There is nothing in the riddle that would indicate the numbers were evenly split, and guessing that was the case isn't in any way a logical conclusion.
Lulz at some of you guys complaining about this. Riddles have non realistic constraints put on them - it's a riddle! Don't be salty you couldn't figure it out - the solution is perfectly valid and can be concluded from the given information.
