is it just me or is that guard pass very fishy? Looks like a triangle waiting to happen.
 
That is a very long discussion, and it also depends on what kind of leg submission you are talking about. If you are new to them I would start with straight ankle locks first, and then more on to more advanced kneebars and toeholds.
