"Leg Drive in the bench press is like cheat curls"

I'm only 17... like a 15-year-old, but with good chest results due to the fact that I've hit puberty..

He also said this when I told some guy not to bother trying to get a 6 pack:

"if anyone on these forums know about how to train abs right, it would be me. been training abs for like 3 years. went from nothing -> 4 pack -> 6 pack and still training abs hard.

heres pics of my ab progress over the past few years"

So I made him this (this is his 2 years progress):

The guy is seriously delusional about the kind of "results" he is getting...

HAHAHAHA. no but seriously... those are some wicked abs, this kid knows what he's talking about, you should get him on here so he can teach us a few things about ab training. Maybe all our ab wheel roll outs and squats, deads and presses are useless for our abs?

lol seriously, he went form a 4 pack to a 6 pack? someone teach this kid some basic anatomy.

Even from a pure bodybuilding standpoint, he should be able to appreciate that benches with leg drive are sort of like improvised forced negatives. Generally as you lower the weight, it's in a manner similar to a strict bench press (in reverse), and the leg drive only comes in when you push back up.

I expect you to post it on his wall. Post his response in this thread.

Set him on fire.

I have alerted him to the existence of this thread, and urged him to post on S&P with his goals etc. etc. and see what advice they give him, because he seems to be skeptical that my advice is any good (like telling him to do SS instead of some awful 3x10 travesty of a routine).

Hopefully he'll drop in...

EDIT: Oh, and he accused me of "e-stats" when I posted my big 3 numbers, with like a 360lb DL (this was more unbelievable to him than a 315 squat) at a BW of 200. Then I posted a video. He didn't apologise.

set him on fire

God damn you sherdog and your anti-caps.

yes, tell your gym to get grippers, and an ab wheel I guess but that's not really that important, you can usually improvise one. I use the little shitty barbells they use in the fitness classes (its like sum crap metal you could bend in half) with some of their little shitty weights, it works well, but it squeaks a lot.

Also I agree, put him in a fire.

Very good point.

I also read something in Pavel Tsatsouline's literature that benching like a powerlifter will cause more activation of your pec's because of a phenomenon known as "hyperirradiation." A given muscle contracts more violently when everything else around it is contracting.

Reality is probably a bit simpler. Eccentrics will put strength through the roof.
