Rumor has it this could be a showtime double header for May 21st with Andy Lee and Daniel Jacobs getting the headliner from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

It's just a rumor at the moment but I heard that fat Dan said they are working on it. Would be a great night of fights.

I like Andy Lee, good TV fighter USUALLY , and he's a guy who rely does have punchers chance vs just about everyone. That said, I wish he'd do more than wait for that perfect right hook all night long.

I'm still skeptical that we see Wilder go to Russia to fight Povetkin, though.

In before bomb squad gif.

Yeah Andy Lee can really fight when he wants to. I think against Jacobs it is kill or be killed and should end hard in the first half. Pulling for Lee but he should be the underdog for sure.

I think Wilder goes to Russia and fights. I doubted it as well but his people said they'll do it and that they are really happy about the money. If he pulls out and losses the belt I don't see how he gets any other champ to fight him and he sure doesn't want to face any of the top guys who don't have belts so he's kind of stuck.

The only people I hear saying its a done deal is Povetkin's management. We'll see.

Some recent Wilder quotes seem to confirm it, kind of.

“If we got to go to Russia, let's go. I'm prepared to fight anywhere. It's not going to matter to me at all,” Wilder said. “But they're going to a whole lot of trouble for nothing. I'm on a mission to be the undisputed champion. I don't care who he is or where I have to go. I'm a different kind of fighter; I'm a different breed. Going to Russia don't intimidate me.”

“If I knock him out, it can't go to no judges,” he said. “If I beat him convincingly like Stiverne, it's obvious who won. At the end of the day it's going to be me and him in the ring no matter where we are. Ain't nobody going to have an advantage or disadvantage. We can fight in a goddamn jungle if you want to.”

Jay Deas his trainer and co-manager also said he's fine fighting in Russia since Wilder already fought there many times before he was a pro.

So yeah. Maybe it can happen in Russia. I hope the fight happens somewhere at least.

Deal with Danny and Lee is almost done. About 500k off so it should get done.

Wilder deal is a lot more difficult. Wilder is being honest in saying he wants to fight no matter what. Al does not want him in Russia

If Wilders management is smart, they steer clear of that fight. Feed him another polish hooligan, then let Fury maul him so he at least gets a decent pay day.

You're on.

I think you called Jacobs over Quillen though, ye? Did you bet it?

I don't know if I've ever seen the general perception of an established fighter change so drastically following one fight as it has for Fury after the Klitschko fight.

Maybe Maidana after Broner.

Cool.

Yes and yes. Even had the ko U/8 prop. I had seen them spar at Starret City like 20 times so I won't pat myself on the back at all. I told everyone who would listen here. Danny always got the best of Peter. Just a way better fighter.

Same as I tried to tell people about Sadam Ali.

Nice, I hit it as well. Both under and Jacobs. Figured if Quillen won, it would also be early. Quillen is very overrated, kind of clumsy power hitter. I hit Vargas too, that line was dumb too, only small though. What do you think about Porter v Thurman?

Yeah, he only had power. He telegraphs his punches too.

I like Thurman. Like Peter, Porter is real sloppy and wise. Think he geta caught coming in with a short hook

Lee v Jacobs should be good.

But, Jacob wins by wide UD.

I like this fight . No. 2 vs No. 6 .
Real marque fight . I don't think porter has enough power to keep Thurman worried and like RR says sharp crisp puncher will beat sloppy talented fighter.

To be honest I haven't followed much of their careers ( too many boxers to follow) I don't think Porter was all that sloppy but if that's the case Thurman should take it then

Is this a good fight to put money on ?

Thurmans backfoot game is pretty good, which makes me think that he likely can tag Porter much more than Broner managed when he's coming in wild on the inside. Porter could win a decision from pure pressure though, he's super tough and strong. Very hard to deter from coming at you. Obviously he's going to create collisions though when coming in on Thurman. You betting the fight?
