Least talented fighter to get a title shot?

Sara McMann went to the Olympics for wrestling so I feel like that alone should disqualify her from this list
That's fair. I'm not hating on her. Some fighters have accomplished big things before going pro mma but it's not always good enough to compete at the highest level and be successful. I just think it was an undeveloped division still in it's infancy.

wmma should be in the category of it's own. Thales Leites is up there.

If Anderson was on his game, Weidman would likely make the list.

Lol. Chris Weidman was a touted prospect who was expected to do great things.

Hall vs Weidman 1 was a billed as a fight between super prospects.

Chris Weidman is one of the most highly-touted blue chip middleweight prospects ever. With his combination of size, athleticism, and skill, the sky is the limit. At just 4-0 as a pro, it would be premature for him to jump directly to fighting the top-ranked 185 pound fighters, so getting more fights will be the priority in the interim. His options reportedly include entry into the potential Bellator Season 4 middleweight tournament and a spot on the cast of The Ultimate Fighter 13. The TUF gig would be the best opportunity to show the MMA world his skills, and his upbeat personality is perfect for the reality TV format.

Sounds like casual confirmed
<mma1>

Damn. My memory is failing. That was just a tuf coach fight?
<{dayum}>

Yeah. I felt like BJ was trolling Pulver in that fight, and on top of it, purposely held the choke to rub salt in the wound. Like the bully he is.

....my bitterness makes it easy to remember.

Yeah, I think he had an arm bar and let it go also.

Not hating on her, but I just never thought she had what it takes to be one of the best.
Her UFC run wasn’t spectacular. She was the first Strikeforce WBW champ though, and she’s got names like Miesha, Carmouche, Alexis Davis x2, Roxy, Shayna Baszler, Leslie Smith x2 for whatever that’s worth lol. Good resume overall.

Gil Castillo probably. He actually did beat Nate Marquardt in a smaller promotion when Marquadt was like 20 years old and lost to Dave Menne for the title.

If we're counting Pride, gotto go with Kanehara. Ended up with a 21-27-5 record.

Bork lazer got a TS against Couture after going 2-1 in his MMA career. His loss to Mir then shows how unskilled he was by that point. Big wrestler, no striking, no sub defense. He beat Couture due to sheer size, but had a hard time wrestling him. I gotta rewatch that actually.
Ofc he was probably more skilled by 14 than all the women mentioned combined, ever. But wmma doesn't really count.
