Last food your mom cooked for you?

Both my parents and my wife's parents are generally terrible cooks. Grandmothers were good, but parents, nah. A few alright things, but no real talent in the kitchen or on the bbq/grill.

My wife and I are god damn Michelin Star Chefs in comparison. We both love cooking and have made good food a big part of the family life. In some ways, we should probably be thanking them for pushing us to good cuisine!

Can't remember last dish Mom would have made. Most family functions are here and we're generally cooking, which we enjoy a lot.

Last before she died ....... my favorite meal - her Shrimp Scampi , and tomato linguine . Wirh the bread crumbles on top. Makes me sad thinking about

Sheppards pie. We made it together. She was a great cook.

My mom passed two years ago. Last thing she cooked for me was a cheese omelet and cheese grits.

My mom is the same but she over seasons everything and doesn't know what flavors go together. Most people have fondness for their mom's cooking but my mother just isn't that good even though she learned from her mother, who's a great cook, and has been doing it for decades. I eat her food because I don't want to hurt her feelings but I can cook better than her.

I think in the back of her mind, my mom knows she is a terrible cook. Because she always has some built-in excuse like, “this is the first time I’ve tried this recipe,” or “we didn’t have cilantro so I had to substitute rosemary.”

Let me tell you, if you actually believe what she is saying, then she has not once in her life cooked the same thing more than once, and has never had all of the ingredients for any dish.
