I've bought multiple handguns at once before (at least twice actually) and it didn't "elevate me" to the ATF or FBI...

Well our gun homicide rate is half of what it was 20 years ago despite an over 50% increase in ownership.

Like I said im on the team. I just dont feel that its honest to act like having easy access to guns doesnt correlate in any way to people being shot by them

Also Yes violence is down and there are still more things we could do to lower it further (not referring to banning guns) if we really wanted to. I dont believe in perfect but im almost always sure we could do better if we really wanted to. Not with wackos but with your average street violence

Or you know, you just passed your background or your state has different laws.

Edit:

Lol, you live in Florida, it has some of the most lax gun laws in the entire country and is a big exporter in crime weapons.

Yeah nope

Article I, Section 8 (ratified in 1788): Congress has the power to declare war, raise armies, suppress rebellions, organizing militias, etc

The Bill of Rights was later added for the specific purpose of guaranteeing state and individual rights. That's when we got the 2nd Amendment. So your claim here that the 2nd A was originally intended to enumerate a federal power rather than individual right literally makes zero sense.

But let's go ahead and take a trip to bizarro world anyways and change the language:

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free Country, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Changes absolutely nothing in regards to individual rights. You're inventing a nonexistent state vs fed argument and using it to dismiss individual Constitutional protections. Very strange

"You guys are quoting the amendment without any of the historical context"

This literally made me laugh

"It's been perverted into an individual right as we've disregarded their intention of not having a standing army, but to act as if it was intended to mean an individual right is a retcon born entirely out of Scalia's reasoning in DC vs Heller."

Seriously man what the hell. I legit don't even know where to begin

How about we start with you actually reading the Second Amendment

Then check the date of Heller

Then ask someone how US law is created

Let's start with this. Then we can further explore why your assertions are utter bullshit by getting into the reasoning behind them. Not sure if the full Heller opinion is available to plebs online so PM me if you want a copy of the real deal.

Don't get discouraged, if you have trouble with this first assignment just let me know and I'll do whatever I can to misdirect you. Then I will besmirch you.

I was gonna warn you about his 100 page link. Looks like I was too late.

So you read a secondary source which wouldn't even be cited in an office memo and you believe this holds precedence over literally the highest authorities of law in the United States

- US Constitution
- SCOTUS
- 200+ years of caselaw

I'll actually read this source tho. Might be interesting

I read it after asking if he'd really stick around for the subsequent debate. He scoffed that i would even suggest it. Hours later (after reading it an much of a main citation in it) I made some comment and homie didn't respond. So be forewarned, if your going to take the time just know you're doing it for your own edification.

And of course nothing in the link backed up his claim that there was no historic 2nd Amendment protection for the citizenry. Somehow, even after a civil war, it took the feds 150 years of being a nation before they realized they could in fact ban guns. Crazy!:D

Regular people act really stupid in front of cameras.

That's why we pay professionals to do it.

I think there is too much notoriety in the family to cast this person aside as just a regular person, at this point. His father was one of the longest-standing "FBI's Most Wanted" criminals, while his brother was a mass murderer.

While I do not wish to condemn a man for the sins of his brother and father, he did say, almost with pride, that he survived without a criminal record by having surrounded himself with "dumber people" who got caught doing what he did, in his stead. I have no idea what he actually did, but whatever he did was probably not within the confinements of the common law.

There's reason to believe that he's probably not the most empathic individual around.

I've done it in other states actually and not FL.

By regular people I just mean people that aren't actors.

It's becoming more and more clear this family is pretty bonkers compared to most.

Lol. So the 2nd A was really just a conspiracy to keep the black man down

I honestly expected better

Serious question: have you actually read all 100 pages of this opinion piece?

Historical arguments from our founders during the ratification of the Constitution are "a conspiracy to keep the black man down"?

Oh boy, that doesn't sound like a besmirching to me.

And I have, anything in particular you take issue with? I need to be besmirched. I crave being besmirched.

Unless you can't, which is not unexpected.

What did you buy? Classic Firearms has the Taurus I've been looking at for ccw. Hell it's even cheaper than the Makarov I've been wanting as a ccw.

You sure you want to argue that he lost his shit because of a 4 month old Valium prescription?

Valium?

I have no idea why he lost his shit, or if he even had lost his shit. The article raises interesting points about meds with psychotic side effects though.

100 pages is a lot of pages, dude

Sorry taking shelter from a hurricane took precedence over arguing semantics of judicial activism with you.

You're clearly still buttblasted over it though, so i'll say...i'm sorry.
