Crime Las Vegas Mass Shooting

The guy screams of highly functioning autistic to me. At his age it likely went undiagnosed. His motive could be non-existent and he was just impulsed to do it.

No, killing a lot of people isn't even a pre requisite of terrorism. You could just run around slapping women to get them to vote the way you want and it would be terrorism with zero deaths.

A old, wealthy, quiet man that can barley move (watch the casino tapes of his fall and lawsuit on the casino) apparently had been planning and strategizing a mass shooting his entire life.

He's like the exact opposite of Batman.

Conspiratards out in full force.

Yea I am seeing this a lot on social media and it's amazing how many people are going hard CT. I get we don't have answers so lets find them but man, I think people are cinema-atic that shows and movies make people think there has to be plot twist and anything out of the ordinary is something without doing the extra research. I see people still talking about the 4th story window but don't even think about broken glass or glass missing and they think the GF who was in PI was at the concert telling people they all were dead (which is from the report of someone at the concert, a lady threatened them with that.)

According the the AP the note he left is just a bunch of numbers, FBI trying to decode it.

If it's a cypher of some sorts expect the CT to get insane

Yeah that’s the thing. There doesn’t have to be a motive. His motive could have very well been to just simply do something extremely interesting before he died.

So everyone is talking about the gun control question but I'm not hearing any other solutions or countermeasures to this kind of attack.

What do you guys here think about hotels being mandated to have bullet proof glass? Or alarms that alert authorities when windows are broken? That coupled with robust security in every hotel would have probably reduced the amount of casualties by half.

Fucking stupid
Fucking stupid
And fucking stupid.

That would be absurdly expensive and not a feasible solution for many hotels across the country.

I'm sure that subject has been broached more than a few times in the past 300-ish pages...

. Hell as cool as outdoor arenas and concerts are, I'm surprised that hasn't thrown a red flag for anyone in the past.

And typically hotels have alarms on windows like that. Also there are allegedly reports of the hotel's cctv being compromised and this guys cameras being the only ones rolling...

Bulletproof glass windows would probably exceed the entire cost of most hotels.

Truly... As tragic as this event was, it's just not statistically significant enough to warrant any dramatic reactions. The appropriate reaction has probably already taken place without legislation (Vegas hotels hiring more security). The problem is that this guy was firing for 11 minutes before anyone even got to the room...

I think as a doctor when I heard he's on Valium it triggered something. The side effects of Valium, especially if abused are suicidal thoughts, lack of judgment, severe paranoia

I would wanna know how long and what dosage of Valium he was on

Or fuck me, how about the "Do Not Disturb" maintained for 3 days straight

My work buds were just debating that one, because a lot of people I know can point to vacations where they're gone 2 days easily, but 3 seems a bit much no?

He was only taking it for a few months. IMO, it lines up perfectly with his preparation for this massacre, but has nothing to do with his killing all those people.
Its tough to say without knowing his entire medical history, but based on what we're hearing, this is the only medication of note that he was taking. Seems typically reckless to prescribe a benzo for anxiety, especially diazepam in a 64yo man. Not reckless in the 'this guy might snap' way, but in the 'this guy might crash his car, or become dependent, and we're not addressing any underlining issues' (unless that issue as some morbid diagnosis that hasn't come to light yet) way.

I've been in Vegas for bachelor parties. The DND stays on the door for the duration (2-5 days).

I usually do this regardless. If I need sheets and towels I can ask. Otherwise I don’t want someone going through the room if I’m not there. I normally travel with my laptop/phone for work, so I’d rather strangers didn’t come in while I’m out at breakfast or something.
