So then it had a reason.. But now? You cant fight the army?! What the fuck they ll come in with tanks and shit. It s a democracy... there are rights, legal things and etc. What the fuck is this the jungle where people shoot the authorities??
I know it is difficult to understand since you are not from here. I am a responsible gun owner who uses my weapons for target shooting and home defense, but I have reservations about owning these types of weapons too, but I also see that the government doesn't need to be involved in everything that people do. It is a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation.

You really are retarded. No wonder these kind of things happen in your country.... How the fuck can you compare a pistol to a rifle that you go to war and can shoot tons of people at the same time? Why the fuck do countries behave differently when talking about nuclear vs normal weapons?

Almost all guns in the US are semi-automatics. Semi-automatic = one trigger pull, one bullet. Rifles with an "assault weapon" appearance is just that - appearance, they shoot the same as any semi-automatic with a hunting rifle appearance. The vast majority of murders are committed with pistols, due to how easy they are to conceal. The rifles available to the public are sad, weak jokes compared to the versions that the military use. They're not "weapons of war", civilians can't own any of the weapons the military uses.

I'm probably wasting my time, the media creates dozens upon dozens of uninformed people like you every day, no one has the time to explain to every single one why you're wrong.

Nope, not good enough, because you can kill "tons of persons" with a pistol or hunting rifle too.
How? A pistol only has a few bullets right? The hunting rifle the same right? You cant just go ratatata on everybody. As i have said if we re at it why arent grenades and bazookas and tanks allowed too?

The fear I think is rational if it can realistically protect you, which I assume is its evolutionary function. In the age of mass media and being bombarded constantly with every little thing, it implants these fears artificially. The fear does not line up with reality (since it is based on perception, and perceptions are being shaped over media exposure).

So I think there is a rational basis for the mechanism itself, but in practice in this context it leads to irrational responses.

You're like a paranoid old man with dementia that becomes occasionally lucid and thoughtful when he wakes up from an afternoon nap.

Stephen Paddock may have been a decoy. I heard a compelling theory that with no military experience and no history of expertise with weaponry, and as an avid gambler, it's quite possible that Stephen Paddock was simply a hostage and left dead as a plant. Why did he not fight with the police?

Now I am not saying this is likely, but given the facts we know, it's not impossible either.

The Virginia Tech shooter used two pistols and had a bunch of magazines on back up ready to go and he killed quite a few people.

You know man... If things are logical they can be understood from wherever. If things are not logical and only done because the neighbours and the relatives did it... Then yes you can call it cultural but i can also call it things done out of stupidity... Just because the massed do them...

Reminds me of that sniper movie with Colin Feral.

Not buying it though.

What? I dont seem to get it so i am asking once again. Why do you need an ak-47 to defend yourself? Why isn't just a handgun enough? Regardless of how many crimes are done by handguns and how many by rifles. I m really asking why are rifles on the market? Why can you legally own one of them? What's the logic behind it?

Maybe i ll get a better response if i ask clearer.
You don't need a lot things.
If you really are concerned with the level of gun violence in this country then you wouldn't be okay with handguns.

A handgun is more difficult to shoot well than a rifle.

As an avid target shooter myself, I couldn't disagree more. I will agree that long arms are more effective in a combat situation than a pistol if you practice/learn to shoot one properly. I think that is kind of an obvious observation tho.

It's all what you're comfortable with and what you practice with the most tho, in my experience.

Maybe you're molesting an elderly man's nipples while posting this. It's a possibility.

I'm not asking you for anything JD, and truthfully you can voice your opinion all you want. Just don't expect me to care. Your right to pass judgement on my posts is balanced mine to ignore you.

Well, then don't get your panties in a bunch when I point out that you're shitposting. "SO MANY WEIRD DETAILS ABOUT THIS EVENT THAT IS TOO FRESH FOR US TO REALLY KNOW MUCH ABOUT! WHAT IF THE GUNS WERE WAITING FOR HIM IN THE ROOM? THAT WOULD EXPLAIN A LOT! WHO IS BEHIND HIM?"

Culture and hobby??? Weapons of mass destructions in the hands of any lunatic for culture and hobby... Seems legit..

They aren't WMDs, but I do understand your sentiment. I didn't get it at first either.

The fear of them tends to go away after shooting one.

Europe yes. Why would I be from Italy? :)) So for this reasons you give guns to everybody and anyone can shoot everybody like in the fucking movies? Pistols would be ok, you only have a few shots but rifles like in damn videogames???
Some of your idioms while typing reminded me of a roommate I had from Italy. Essentially yes. You have to understand, the US is a huuuuuuuge country. There’s a ton of wildlife that hasn’t experienced humans and isn’t really afraid to attack either our livestock or ourselves. If that happens you could be an hour or more from a hospital or vet. You have to defend your animals, because your livelihood depends on their health. You also have to defend yourself because it could mean your survival. Until you’ve experienced ranching or farming here in the US I can certainly see how it would be hard to understand, but it’s just life here.

Why can you have a semi automatic weapon? Are you retarded too? Dont you understand that im not from America and i have 0 stance or implication in this? It was just an opportunity to ask somebody from your country whats the deal with these weapons...

Pistols? Why arent pistols ok? Is there any logic in all of this or is this some type of "my dad taught me that this is what means to be tough so thats what i do"?

that's a silly notion. Big Brother knows your social security, your taxes, where you live, what you own (from a tax perspective). They know what you like and favor from your social media posting and they know where you have travelled around the world. So why would it bother you if Big Brother also knows how many and type of guns you own?

So, they don't need a gun registry -they already know everything.

Problem solved.
