Do you think it actually required dry runs, or just planning? If they did do dry runs, there will be lots of camera evidence you would think.

Dry runs at gun ranges for shooting experience.

They could have pre-rented rooms and walked around with no weapons to get an idea of sectors of fire and paths of travel.

This is just quickly off the top of my head. Depending on the number of shooters, they could of coordinated even more.

Let's just say if I was going to do something like this, the least I would do is get weapons handling time and if possible actual walk throughs of target location.

I was thinking that ISIS shit because I thought there were multiple shooters. But if it's just one guy it could be any fuckin thing. Especially if he was blasting out the window, wtf. But I guess they always initially say that there's more than 1 shooter. It makes for plenty of CT material after the fact usually.

I doubt the gunman is interested in specifically tracking one person down that they don't know. Besides, if things like this are never recorded we have no evidence or documentation and I for one don't want to give any ' truthers ' leeway.

Because thats what active shooters do, they start going through social media to find where people ran to hide. Theres always time to check facebook, even when youre committing mass murder.

Or he read a simple pamphlet, book, or watched an internet video that showed him how to convert the weapon in a few minutes to full auto.

Could have had a special trigger too that allows a shot for every pull forward/back.

It just depends to be honest....there so many factors to consider. Higher ground (at that height) is less suspecting and harder to pin point. Also helps nullify return fire fro small arms such as pistols if you are might suspect return fire your direction i.e most cops standard issued with glock type pistols aren't going to accurately hit shit if they have to aim 32 floors up.
