Las Vegas is dead...

I'm from AZ so a quick flight (not where I am at now though) and got family there, I still would consider living there I like Vegas, it has lost from of it's glamour but it's not dead. Just not as fun as it use to be but I still like it. I been around 50 times or so.. I don't like how bottles of water will be 12$ a shot is 15-20$ ect...
Most people that live there avoid the strip. If you move there you better like the rest of the city

It would probably would end up that way but i did look at some of the high rise luxury apartments on the strip and near the old strip. They got some nice looking places with a lot of amenities.

And partly due to the financial shenanigans of the large casino corps and private equity. I can't prove it but I nevertheless believe that anytime you read about an industry adopting sales & leaseback strategies, the end result is not good for anybody but the finance mofos.

I suspect this has an awful lot to do with an awful lot of things where it largely goes unmentioned

One time I was there and we found a bar that cost like $25 for open bar all night. On the strip.

Now a bottled water at the hotel room costs more than that in some hotels LOL.

Anyhow, I really just want to enter this thread to say I'm sick of fucking shitty youtubers basdially being propagandists by saying "Proof" of something because of their streaming slop.

Do some remotely scholarly analysis, give real fucking numbers, do some actual deep thinking. I am on the road a lot and have visited many places "travel bloggers" travel to and will say their videos are absurdly biased lops of shit -- whether it be India, China, Japan, Paris, London, places in Germany you name it, often to try to portray something being absolutely horrible by getting snippets of something and saying it's like this all the time and everywhere, when in reality its maybe just the worst tiny neighborhood in a megacity.

And I'm also sick of people subjecting themselves to this shit and actually believing the crap.

I usually go once every year or so I haven't really noticed much of a difference. It has been about 18 months since I've been there though

I was there in July. It was actually pretty damn packed, but it was also the weekend of the Pacman vs Barrios fight so it's expected. Nothing compare to back in the days though. I remember going to Vegas when NBA All-Star weekend was there. 2007 I believe. It was crazy jam packed. Even at 3 am the strip was bonkers. I would say the only comparable time to that was being on the strip on New Years Eve. Actually that night had even more people. Anyway we are going during Thanksgiving weekend. I could care less how empty or packed it is. Actually I hope it's empty. Maybe they will heavily discount show tickets.
