Las Vegas is dead...

We're trying to keep the ghetto people out from California

They've been coming in droves after the pandemic. A lot of them moved here. We had enough so we started jacking up the prices to filter them out.

Hopefully they move back to their shitholes
It's still keeping non ghetto people from going too.. you know, the ones from cities in California that are vastly superior to Las Vegas.

That's definitely part of it, not just the high prices. So basically three more years of Trump keeping foreign tourists out.

Aside from work obligations, I don’t know a single friend or family member who will cross the border until he’s rotting underground.

Social media videos aside, Vegas is not "dead".

But tourism is hurting this year. Major casinos companies are reporting revenue and profit declines, total visitors are down, and the city is getting lots of negative attention for small crowds and escalating prices.

The reasons include general inflation, the growing availability of gambling options elsewhere, and the US decision to discourage foreign visitors.

Personally, I suspect that that the pricing is partly strategic - a focus on richer customers since 1% of the US population is responsible for 50% of consumer spending. Partly due to general post COVID inflation. And partly due to the financial shenanigans of the large casino corps and private equity. I can't prove it but I nevertheless believe that anytime you read about an industry adopting sales & leaseback strategies, the end result is not good for anybody but the finance mofos.

America First Alone.

third worlders who wanted to waltz across the border but can't now cause orange man stopped it immediately after he won and he didn't to pass a bill like the dems aruged 6 months before an election after they let in 12 milllion illegals walk into the country and when it finally became an election issue they blamed the right for not passing a bill that only lowered it to 8.5k illegals a day and had also earmarked 60 billion more for ukraine?

"Third worlders" that could form a more coherent sentence than you just did.

It isn't dead but it is not sustainable. I believe the numbers were down 20% and while that seems reasonable, most things in Vegas have large fixed cost. A 20% reduction in revenue might be a to 70% decrease in profits or even loses. I believe all their nickel and diming is part of a death spiral where in the short term, it will sustain things but in the long term it is damaging. The governor of Nevada has been getting on Las Vegas for nickel and diming and she is right. The only way out of a death spiral is to not to do the things that contribute to it. Vegas is not unique to gambling anymore and I don't think it works as a family destination, which they have tried so hard to be. I don't know what Vegas is anymore. Whatever it is, it can't be expensive as the whole reason why it was built up was to be a cheap destination for gambling. It ain't NYC or San Fran so quit trying to charge rates comparable.

This is a misleading video looks like he filmed it at 5am. fremont street is elbow to elbow crowd right now I am there.
INCONVENIENT! Your truth holds no power here!

Worried you'll be locked up and disappeared without any chance to prove you're there legally? Or worried someone will accuse you of being drug terrorist and exploded without due process?
You are just describing international travel anywhere in the world

it was a shot at the democrats, my friend and i never said that my communication on a super serious karate forum would be anything great.

I was in Vegas in August and it was pretty busy (just really hot weatherwise). Going again next month.

Good thing I went to Vegas years ago when it wasn't like this but I heard some stories of how Vegas hotels are baiting visitors with normal rates then gouge them with added fees when they check in and after. Bs like wifi fee, parking fee, resort fee, very high minibar fee, fee for the in-room phone, safe, or atm, extra towels cost money too.
wtf? It's already bs hotels in US charging people for amenities fees compare to the rest of the world. I've been to Asia & Europe and none of them has hidden fees like US does.

A. Most major cities have several casinos now.
B. You can bet online now
C. Vegas started charging beach resort levels prices for rooms and adding a ton of fees.
D. Vegas has gotten cheap with the free ie drinks as you play. When I went most recently they only came around for dri ka at the tables ne er the machines and the poker room whwre im at they were few an far between.

In 10 to 15 yesrs Vegas will be lIke AC at this rate
