Kron Gracie

The earth is flat, there is no such thing as global warming, and Rickson Gracie is 400-0

MAGA was really the best name you could think of, and you decided to reference Rickson’s ridiculous claim in your OP?

Kron vs. Marcelo Garcia was a classic grappling match... Marcelo won on points somehow, I don't really understand the points system but it seemed to me that Kron was attacking and Marcelo was defending most of the fight.

Kron is one of the greatest BJJ guys I’ve ever seen, he’s an excellent finisher and always tries to destroy his opponent.

He also has a unique style, a full guard second to none with a constant barrage of loop choke threats, guillotines, ankle picks, and arm bars. He’s always aggressive.

But this is MMA...

I think Kron made a huge tactical mistake by choosing the 209 camp as his training core. Nate and Nick get by on being tall, having great cardio and awesome chins.

Kron has awesome cardio, a good chin, but is much shorter so he can’t afford to lay back and pick apart someone on his feet like the taller, leather-faced Nate Diaz. And like Nate and Nick, Kron has virtually no takedown ability, besides pulling guard or a sweep here and there. I don’t care if Kron is an ADCC gold medalist, if he fights someone with college level takedown defense, good hands and knows how to protect himself from a high-elbow guillotine, Kron will struggle against the top ten guys who can.

True. He simply doesn't have the rhythm and pop to stand and fight. He is what he is: a one-dimensional BJJ guy. Which basically, is what a guy like Backpack Maia is. But Backpack has leveraged that skill, and made himself become a legit threat just on that skill. Gracie should've went to Backpack's camp, learned the 1-2 basics that Maia has standing, but learn how to grab (and backpack) guys.

Looks like he may have made a stop at backpack camp...

Kron made it look easy. Great win for him and the Gracie family.

Dude just beat Caceres so he should be top ten now imo. A fight, maybe two if they take him slow away from that ts.

haters gonna hate but Kron is legit. His BJJ is up there in the rarefied air of truly elite practitioners. He runs triathlons with Nate Diaz and has cardio for days.

People claiming he needs 10 minute rounds to win are basing this solely on the Hideo Totoro fight, all his other wins came within 5 minutes.

We already know he can hang with UFC level opponents because he dominated Kawajiri. In that fight he got soccer kicked in the head and took it like it was nothing, he’s got a chin.

People talking about his takes downs, meh. That’s not really how Kron fights. Look at his previous fights, he’s gonna look to get on the inside, get a wizard and trip you, or pull guard from there. Caceres with his high center of gravity is a perfect target for this, I don’t think he can stay upright long enough to win this fight. I like Alex, but I’m picking Kron tonight.

Hate to say I told you so...

Naw I’m kidding I love it

Neiman is 100x more promising. Very solid standup already, good takedowns, and his Bjj has translated to mma extremely well.
That is the incorrect assessment but thanks for playing. Kron has been a champion his whole life.

Kron doesn't need to be tall and skinny to train with 209 and be successful, ask Gilbert and Shields. Kron brings his own unique talent to the game and will benefit from training with the extremely experienced, talented and tough Diaz bros.
