Now that he has his black belt, I just have a few questions to ask for all those that practice and follow BJJ.

1) When he goes to the Worlds, who do you think will be his biggest challenge? Do we even
know his weight class and who he "might" have to go up against or is it still to early?
2) If he does do absolute, and he makes it pretty far, how would the fight between him and
Roger go?
3) Do you think his submission streak will end?
4) Do you think there is someone there that can submit him?
5) Is there any weaknes to this kid because I just don't see it, maybe some of the bjj black
belts that frequent this part of the forum can point some things out.

The reason I ask is I love his approach, it makes us older guys really appreciate the basics and how well they work. I just want to see what those that compete and visit the forums have to say about this kid. In all fairness, I would love to see BJ PENN and him match up, at the Mundials, just to see the technique go through the roof.

Thanks

i think galvao is the biggest potential matchup he could face, marcelo isnt competing i dont think so i believe it would have to be galvao

Galvao's got to be the biggest challenge for him. My prediction is he gets some hard fought subs early on but Galvao handles him if they match up.

I think he can Give Galvao some hard trouble. Kron has crazy Basics, but Galvao is a Seasoned Black Belt. good shit though.
War KRON War Andre !

i think that Kron is going to have an uphill battle because every frigin black belt is going to want a piece of him. Just to be the one to say that they got him first.

yea, they're gonna be gunning for him bad. Rickson obviously knows this and wouldn't have given him his black if he weren't confident in his abilities.

Yeah I was thinking galvao, but if he goes absolute then what?

Kron seems so much smaller then Roger or Galvao. Kron is under major pressure but hell his dad is a legend and he has a solid game. I'm sure he will spend more mat time with dad before Worlds :).

if he does go to the absoute, what are some of the other 'heavy hitters' from other division that he could face? i havent really heard if any of the other big boys are competing, i.e. roger, drysdale, xande?

Galvao probably wont be fighting at the same weight as Kron.

Galvao fought at middle-heavy at the panams and did very well, winning his weight and the absolute. At middleweight (Kron's weight) Galvao is too small to win the absolute.

I think Galvao will stay at middle heavy.

Also, I dont think Roger will be competing. He has an MMA fight soon.

I believe Galvao is meio pesado now. It was Otavio Sousa and another Rickson BB in the finals at the Pan. So I'm thinking a Rematch of last years Brown Belt Medio @ the Worlds. I think Kron could take Otavio again but it should be a good match up, Otavio always puts up a good fight against Kron. Otavio is always actively attacking and has some awesome sweeps. On the flip side Kron goes straight for the finish everytime and usually gets what he attempts. I don't think Kron will have any trouble at BB, he's a beast. I mean he is Rickson's son.

stupid me but when's the worlds?? And why isn't M. gracia competing?? Will he have his second mma fight in Dream X

1) Biggest challenge would be Lucas Lepri, current champion or Galvao if he competes in his division.
2) Roger would probably beat him due to he is bigger than Kron. But again, Roger has an MMA fight coming, so he might not compete.
3) I think it's very probably he will end his submissions strike and even a lost is possible (by points) if he fights in the absolute.
4) I don't see nobody submitting him except Roger.
5) His weakness might be on the standup game. Somebody with a better judo could give him problems.

Just my 2 cents.

I'd love to see Kron roll with Rorion's sons.. against Roger would be crazy also

You know little of Kron's standup game, obviously. His takedowns are excellent. See his recent brown belt match in Japan against Junior Cavalcante (sp?), for example. He has excellent judo and wrestling.

Kron's Submission streak probably will end. and it will be him vs Galvao!!! I hope so

shame no garcia or jacare anymore

roger and galvo/xande riberio will do well
